The turn-of-the-century cottage was renovated by an artist couple who lovingly restored charming original details and updated it with modern amenities, custom furniture, and loads of art. In the coziest living room, tuck into an art book in front of a warm fire, play from the collection of board games, or listen to the Sonos speaker system. Cook up a feast in the well-stocked kitchen with luxurious essentials like a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, VitaMix, Le Creuset pans, rice maker, spices and knives that work! Gather around the large custom-dining table for a family meal or to get some work done. Upstairs, you'll find three comfortable bedrooms featuring a roomy king, an elegant queen, and carpeted kids' quarters with a loft kids bed, crib, queen floor mattress, and plenty of toys. No TV (who needs it anyway?) but ultra-fast wifi for your zoom or streaming needs. We can provide directions to use the projector for movie screening. Due to limited bathrooms, house is best suited for up to 5 adults and a few kids. In warmer months, grill outside on the porch next to the flowing stream. The rhododendrons explode in late June. The house is conveniently located just off of Cragsmoor's main road, and a short walk up the hill to the lovely historical society and free library. A quick drive will take you to Sam's Point*** and some of the most beautiful views in upstate New York. The stunning Minnewaska State Park, at the foot of the Catskills, is nearby. Closer to home, simply step outside the backdoor and you'll find a natural oasis on 2.5 private wooded acres replete with babbling brooks and your own mini hiking trail. Cragsmoor is a historic artists' colony with a fascinating history and some beautiful properties. Make sure to stop by the gorgeously crafted 'free library every Tuesday-Saturday to learn more. The short driveway accommodates up to two cars. There is no other road parking. Cragsmoor is a non-commercial 'hamlet', but all the necessities of a getaway are a short drive down the mountain. Ellenville (with groceries stores, restaurants, pharmacies, great vintage shops, and a hospital) is just 8 minutes away and Pine Bush offers small-town charm 12 minutes in the other direction. Famed country club 'Inness' is nearby. Lovely jaunts nearby for antiquing, wine tasting, and pumpkin patch/apple picking include Accord, Kerhonkson, New Paltz, Woodstock, and Kingston.
