The Art Cottage - Paintings, Color and Fun!

Get inspired at The Art Cottage nestled in Funky Little Forest Hills, Dallas’ best kept secret! Only 5 miles from downtown, The Art Cottage is a peaceful oasis where you will be surrounded by nature and creativity. It is walking distance to popular restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, and a farmers market on Saturdays. Enjoy the beauty and nature of White Rock Lake and the Dallas Arboretum, a 66-acre botanical garden that ranks among the best in the world! The space The Art Cottage is filled with paintings and murals by Danielle Kimzey, a painter with a studio behind the house. Come enjoy this fun and colorful little house in one of the most unique parts of Dallas. You can live like a local and walk the wooded hills of Little Forest Hills, sip coffee at one of the many coffee shops nearby, or dine in one of the many popular restaurants. On Saturdays, stroll down the block to the popular Good Local Market Farmers Market and enjoy everything local vendors and farmers have to offer. The house can fit up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 kids. In the second bedroom, the bed can be a king size, 2 twins, or a solo twin. Please let us know how you would like that room to be set up before your arrival. There is a large backyard with lots of shade from our many trees, and the patio is a wonderful place to enjoy meals and morning coffee as the birds sing and the sun peaks through the trees. For kids there is a geodesic dome for climbing and a rope swing. It’s a great place to let your kids roam around safely. Hoping you feel inspired to be creative, there are art supplies provided for anyone to use. Guest access You have the entire house to yourself, with a large backyard, patio, and driveway. Feel free to relax and make yourself at home. Occasionally I will be working in my detached backyard studio but will stay out of your way unless you need something, then please reach out for help. I’m happy to have you enjoy the artwork and love being a host. Other things to note Please turn outside patio lights off at 10pm in consideration of our neighbors. We are friends with our neighbors and hope to keep them happy. Please respect their peace, no parties or drugs allowed. Paintings will change as they are sold and new work is finished. That said, please treat it respectfully. Do not touch or move.
