The Studio on Croftville Road

Come and enjoy what was originally built for an artist’s studio and converted to a pet-friendly cozy living space. The studio is a spacious 800-sq ft open-concept layout with charming skylights in the kitchen and bathroom, and windows to overlook Lake Superior. We’re located on Croftville Road, which locals call the "Walkers Road" - quiet to traffic and perfect for a casual stroll. Our delightful space comes with a balcony and deck access on the lake & the shore. BIPOC Welcome! The space We are pet friendly . This information is as important to pet owners who travel as well as those who are sensitive and need to look elsewhere. If traveling with a pet, please note that pets must be kenneled if you plan to leave them in the Studio without you. I have a full pet policy located in the House Manual if you book. . We have a complete mini-kitchen as needed for your stay! The kitchen includes a fridge, new stove (electric range and small oven), microwave, keurig coffee maker, instant-pot, Crock-pot, and hot plate. There is an in-ground fire pit across the street to enjoy in off-winter seasons. We also have a portable fire pit for use In the driveway if fires are your thing. There is a lovely deck to sit and enjoy the lake in the spring, summer, and fall or come take photos of the snow falling on the lake in the winter! Note that the deck is located in an area not plowed in the winter, so bring your snow-boots! The Studio has both a shower room with a full sink and a separate toilet and eco-friendly sink. This is great for multiple guests. We have a queen bed with a day bed system. The twin beds are a day bed with a trundle bed tucked in and stored underneath for saving space. We also have provided a pull out bed that appears to be a seat. You might prefer that to the bottom bed for day bed. Its on wheels and you can adjust direction it faces. Much easier to maneuver than bottom day bed Guest access Guests have access to a private balcony off of the Studio. overlooking the lake. You are invited to use deck on the lake and access to the shore. Deck area is not plowed during the winter; we shovel a path to deck area. Feel free to come see the views from the Deck year-round! PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A SIGN APROACHING THE DRIVEWAY ACROSS THE ROAD THAT SAYS PRIVATE PROPERTY. THAT IS NOT FOR YOU. GUESTS ENJOY THE LAKE DECK AND BEACH AREA Other things to note The main door is a snug fit. You will need to make sure the door is pulled tightly closed to work properly. Also during the summer make sure you keep sliding screen door closed. Those pesky bugs are smart, and they will get inside. If bugs are bad and you have a dog, bugs like to follow them, brush off pup before bringing inside. You will be happy you did. Please keep shower room open after your shower. We don't have exhaust fan to remove humidity and steam. Please recycle your glass , cardboard and paper, and soda cans. Green is what we’re about. We have separate garbage and recycle bins.
