Tangmere has a local shop, for last minute shopping and all basic needs. As former Battle of Britain village it houses the Tangmere military Aviation museum, which is within walking distance and has been a popular attraction for military enthusiast since opening in 1982. Set on the former RAF Tangmere airfield the museum is home to countless fascinating exhibits. At the 800 year old church, WW2 wargraves can also be found. Several excellent beaches and Chichester Harbour are less than 10 miles away and it is just outside the boundaries of South Downs National Park. Goodwood House, golf course, motor racing circuit and race course are within 2 miles and Fontwell race course is only 3 miles away. West Dean College and the Weald and Downland outdoor museum are 10 minutes distant by car.
