Lake Front Cabin - 60acre property - 80 acre lake

Vrbo

Lake front Cabin on beautiful private 60-acre property and 80-acre Lake.

Description

Our 60-acre property is on a no motor 80-acre lake in a magical remote park like setting. About 30 minutes Priest River/Newport. The cabin is located on our 60 acres where we enjoyed many weekends and summer vacations when our kids were young. Eventually we built a home next door to the cabin. There are 12 houses in our quiet valley. Guests enjoy paddling, fishing, hiking, running, road biking, reading etc. No events. The space The whole group will be comfortable in this spacious and unique space. 4 guests, 2 bedrooms 2 beds (King and Queen), living room, den/office/sunroom, kitchen and full bath. Access to lake shore to launch your boat (motorless), or swim (water is deep). The berm house stays cool all summer because of the nature of how a berm house is built into the side of the hill. It was our go to place to get cool on hot summer days - along with swimming or sitting under a large shade tree. Fish in the lake include; Kokanee (catch and release), Trout, Bass and Perch. The Great Northern railroad line was built in 1891 and ran through our valley for 100 years. In 1906 a train derailed at the exit of the original tunnel and crashed into the lake. The train was pulled from the lake and a new train tunnel was built. You can see the tunnels from the lake. There is a fire pit next to the lake for guests to use when there are no fire restrictions from BLM etc. The roads to our property are maintained by the Pend Oreille County. The last mile of road to our property is gravel. Guest access Access to the berm house is though a sliding glass door. You can lock it from the inside with a pole. We live in a safe neighborhood. Guests may access the lake to launch their boat from the creek. The shore is rocky so wearing water shoes is recommended. Swimming requires the buddy system. The lake is deep, so a life preserver is advised. The roads to our property are maintained by the Pend Oreille County. The last mile of road to our property is gravel. Other things to note We have a berm house that stays very cool in the summer when the temp can get up there. Guests who want to bring a dog must have it on their reservation and the dog must be leashed when outside. Guests must agree to this during the reservation process. The roads to our property are maintained by the Pend Oreille County. The last mile of road to our property is gravel. We do not spray bugs inside or outside. There is mosquito spray on the porch near the sliding glass door. If the power goes out because of wind or storm we have a generator that we can start to keep the water pump working. We turn it on if there seems to be a longer than normal recovery. The PUD is very responsive, and the generator is loud so we need to balance convenance with tranquility.
