La Maison d'Aubigny Gite

The Maison d'Aubigny has 6 bedrooms to accommodate 15 people. It is a house of character with a very large garden, bathed in light with a chef at home on demand. Its interior combines elegance and comfort. This large cottage between Vézelay and Guédelon, 2 hours from Paris, is in the heart of an authentic and beautiful countryside, in a typical hamlet of the Yonne. It is a place suitable for the youngest in which you can celebrate the table by calling on our former restaurateur chef. The space The Maison d'Aubigny is available all year round to welcome you with family or friends, for a weekend or a week. Located in the small hamlet of Aubigny, in Forterre (Yonne), in the immediate vicinity of the Frétoy forest, it is located at an equal distance from the points of interest of our beautiful region. The Basilica of Vézelay, the cellars of Irancy and Chablis, the castles of Saint-Fargeau and Guédelon, the house of Colette and the towns of Auxerre, Toucy and Clamecy among others, because our region is really worth a visit, two hours from Paris. With a total area of 300 m², facing south and opening onto a large garden of more than 8000 m², the house is bathed in sunlight as soon as it appears. On the ground floor, a large American kitchen, perfectly equipped for fourteen people opens onto a dining room, next to a large central living room of 60 m² where we like to meet. Finally, there is a bedroom with a 160 cm double bed with shower room and toilet. Two wood stoves complete the central heating system and we provide wood. Upstairs, you will find two bathrooms with bathtub, a separate toilet as well as five spacious bedrooms each with quality bedding, all with at least one window opening onto the garden and its view in the distance over the Morvan. - Bedroom 2: 2 beds of 90 cm and 2 beds of 80 cm - Bedroom 3: 2 beds of 90 - Bedroom 4: 1 bed of 160 - Bedroom 5: 1 bed of 160 - bedroom 6: 2 beds of 90 Linens are not provided, optional rental for 17 euros per bed. Bathroom linen is not provided either. Optional rental 3 euros per person. We provide hand towels and kitchen towels. You will also find a small grocery store in the kitchen. A cleaning fee of €170 will be requested, the house is very large and requires eight hours of cleaning. We can provide two cots and two high chairs as well as a baby bath. The house is very pleasant to live in, with lots of light and quality materials. The atmosphere is conducive to rest, relaxation and good times shared together. In the very large garden, enclosed on three sides (the fourth being a large field), you will find many varieties of fruit trees, a real petanque court (we provide the balls as well as a game of Molkki) and children's games, wooden hut, swing, slide (children must remain under the supervision of an adult). For sunny days, you will also find a terrace with pergola, wooden furniture and a large barbecue. You can, if you wish, organize with the owner (he is a former Master Restorer) a typical Burgundian dinner (or not) mainly based on organic, local and seasonal products but also a tasting of wines from the region. You can also ask him to prepare for you good dishes that you will find on arrival with instructions to warm them up. Feel free to ask him. Upon arrival, you will find a mini-bar (for a fee) filled with local beers and regional wines. Finally, you can discuss with him the best plans in the area. You will enjoy a quiet and green environment in which you can relax with your family and friends. Other things to note For orders of prepared dishes or chef's menu at home, please let us know at least a week in advance to allow us to do our shopping quietly.
