Antiche Mura is an old house in the medieval historic center of Turi overlooking a square known as the "piazza delle femmine", 100 steps from the Marchesale Palace. The same square was first occupied by a Hospital built in the 1800s thanks to funds allocated by a benefactor as early as the 16th century. After about a century, the hospital was closed and demolished around the 1950s. Turi is a quiet town in the Bari hinterland famous for its production and export throughout the World of its "Ferrovie" Ciliegie and, generally, for its precious food and wine traditions. Turi is home to a historic prison that has hosted Gramsci and Pertini; in it, you can admire charming churches of historical value and the medieval Palazzo Marchesale dei Marquesi Venusio.
