Phenomenal dining and nightlife options within walking distance include world-famous Pappy's Smokehouse, The Southern, Urban Chestnut Brewing, The Fountain on Locust, and many more. Here's a little more about the Midtown Alley Design District from the community's website: "Originally called Automobile Row, Midtown Alley was St. Louis’s prime spot to purchase cars between 1911 and 1955. In 2005, the neighborhood was added to the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. National Park Service. While none of the original automobile businesses remain, the buildings–many of which were designed by the famed architect Preston Bradshaw–still stand as a reminder of what first made this neighborhood so special in the city of St. Louis. Today, Midtown Alley is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in St. Louis. New restaurants such as Brennan’s Work and Leisure, Small Batch, and Egg Midtown are opening up next to older neighborhood staples like The Fountain on Locust and Pappy’s Smokehouse. The heart of our neighborhood, however, can be found in the local St. Louis design businesses that call Midtown Alley their home. Within the past ten years, our neighborhood has entered into a new renaissance, thanks in no small part to the designers, architects, and artists who saw the potential of this seven-block stretch and breathed new life into the area. Walking down Locust Street, one can feel the creative energy of the neighborhood. New firms pioneering innovative business models are opening their doors next to ice cream shops, modeling agencies, and local barbecue hangouts. This eclectic mix of old and new has become the defining feature of Midtown Alley. As new businesses pop up and students and long-time residents alike flock to Midtown’s residential lofts, there can be no doubt that Midtown Alley is St. Louis’s creative epicenter. Just as Midtown’s past can be seen in the historic buildings lining the sidewalks, the neighborhood’s future is found in the creative businesses that brought these structures back to life." ☆ Pets ☆ Bringing your furry friends? We're pet friendly! Our pet fee is $14/nt for up to 2 cats or dogs. Pet fees are paid separately after booking through Airbnb, and we offer discounts for guests staying longer than a week! Just let us know the number of companions you'll be bringing with you when you checkout and you'll receive a payment request for the fees after booking. ☆ Long-Term Stays ☆ Unlike most other hosts, corporate housing is our specialty. We prepare our homes not just to handle the needs of guests staying a few days, but for guests staying for months or years. Not only are our homes better equipped for your needs, our long-term rates are among the most competitive available. Guests staying longer than 31 days will not be required to pay sales tax (saving an additional 17%), and will receive huge discounts on add-on services like pets and parking. ☆ House Rules ☆ Most of our guests are incredibly respectful and kind, but occasionally we have guests who treat our home, our cleaners, and/or our neighbors with disrespect. We require all guests to agree to a simple list of reasonable house rules and to pay any associated fines in the event of violation of these rules. Please familiarize yourself with these rules by scrolling down to "Things to Know" and clicking "Show All" under "House Rules". ☆ Parking ☆ Midtown is a very popular neighborhood, and parking is limited. Parking is metered on the street, and there are paid lots in the area. We wanted to provide parking for guests bringing a car while not inflating the nightly rate for those who wouldn't need parking, so we've purchased an on-site gated parking space, and rent the space for $14/night as a convenient option for those who need it. Please include in your greeting message whether you'll be needing parking. Staying long-term? We offer discounts for guests staying longer than a week! ☆ Cancellations+Alterations ☆ For short-term bookings we issue a full refund for cancellations received within 48h of booking as long as the check-in date is at least 14 nights out, and a 50% refund for cancellations received within 48h of booking if the check-in date is at least 7 nights out. For long-term bookings (28+ nights), if you cancelled before the check-in date, you would pay for the 1st 30 days of the booking, and if after, you would pay for the subsequent 30 days from your new check-out date. The same policies also apply to alterations, with the amount of the refund being applied to the new dates. If the alteration just extends an existing reservation while retaining the original dates, there are no cancellation fees – you just pay for the nights you’re adding We sometimes receive requests for additional refunds beyond those already offered. We understand that there are many valid reasons for needing to cancel or alter a reservation, so rather than acting as a kind of judge for the validity of each case (and in fairness to our guests who do not ask for special treatment) we highlight and clearly explain the terms of our cancellation policy here to make sure it’s understood upfront and do not offer policy exceptions for any reason. ☆ More Great Listings ☆ We have other fantastic listings up now, so check those out too!
