This historic, rustic property is perfectly situated in a neighborhood of quaint cabins in the 1897 mining town of Eldora, 10 MINUTES TO ELDORA SKI RESORT, 10 minutes from the quiet, quirky little mountain town of Nederland, and 30 minutes from Boulder. Rocky Mountain National Park is just an hour away! The space THIS IS A REAL 1919 MOUNTAIN CABIN! - the floors and walls are a little crooked... the floors creak... But it is a beautiful space with a great yard and sleeps 4! Elevation 8,700 feet! 4WD required November to April. The historic 1919 main cabin contains the combined living and kitchen area. Furnished with many antique and vintage items, Glen Eden is almost like Grandma's house, only the beds are better! The living room has a loveseat, sofa bed, easy chair and a coffee table, WIFI, 50 inch TV with DVD player and ROKU only. Kitchen has seating for 4-6, microwave, crockpot, toaster, blender for those smoothies or frozen drinks, electric coffee maker, dishes, flatware, pots and pans, glassware, bakeware and many cooking implements and utensils. Let us know if there is something special you need. The newer two story addition at the rear of the house contains two bedrooms and a mud room. The lower bedroom has a full-sized, memory foam bed with good pillows and cotton sheets, dresser, small closet and a small computer work space. The upstairs bedroom has a queen-sized, memory foam bed with good pillows and cotton sheets, dressers and an armoire closet. The living room has a sofa bed that sleeps a 3rd single or 4th guest. The bathroom has a modern toilet, a sink and a clawfoot bathtub that can ONLY BE USED FOR A SHOWER AS THERE IS ONLY A 20 GALLON HOT WATER HEATER. There are no laundry facilities, but laundromat is available 4 miles away in Nederland. The yard has a gas barbeque, picnic table, lawn chairs and umbrellas all surrounded by a cordwood wall. There is also a gas fire pit for those cool autumn evenings and making smores! Perfect for outdoor entertaining! 4WD required to drive to the cabin November to April. If you have 2WD, you CANNOT park at the cabin from November to April unless there is no snow. Hiking in Roosevelt National Forest and entrance to Indian Peaks Wilderness Area is just over a mile up the road. About an hour to Rocky Mountain National Park (summer reservations required), 8 minutes to Nederland, 30 minutes to Boulder, and about one hour and 15 minutes to Denver and Denver International Airport (DIA). This is the wild west, with moose, black bear, bobcat, coyote, fox, mule deer, elk and a plethora of birds abounding! Please respect, don't feed and read the rules. Like any old rustic cabin, it has it's quirks, but is an amazing and authentic Rocky Mountain place to stay and play! Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. Early to mid summer can be buggy and we get the occasional mouse and sometimes a cobweb! If you can't deal with a vintage cabin, please rent a shiny renovation down the road... SMOKING SAFELY OUTSIDE IS OK. 420 FRIENDLY. Owner's studio is a small cottage approximately 30 feet away from the big cabin, and we may pass in the driveway, but your privacy is assured. By booking with us, you agree to present any issues to the owner via the Airbnb message site and give us the opportunity to remedy any issues while you are staying. We are extremely transparent with our listing, will answer any questions before your arrival and during your stay, and we love our 5 star reviews! We don't like mean or difficult people (who does?) and they will be asked to leave. To those who like to complain about the value, please go stay in Aurora at the Motel 6 for a hundred dollars a night - they left the light on for you! We are providing our home to Airbnb guests who would like to experience a unique, historic, Rocky Mountain cabin within an hour and a quarter of an International Airport! It is a slice of mountain heaven, very comfortable but rustic, in an amazing location close to a mountain town and endless hiking in the National Forest. The ski area is about 10 minutes up the hill! It is vacation paradise! And when you add up all that goes into your stay - just to name a few - kitchen staples, cleaning supplies, furnishings, linens, bathroom supplies, music, movies, television, internet, games, wine, chocolate, flowers, PROPANE AND ELECTRIC HEAT, SEPTIC TANK PUMPING, fair wage housekeeping including extra labor to wash every dish in the house sometimes because the guests wash the dishes up real quick-like and forget to get the food off... carpet shampooing, propane for barbeque and outdoor fire pit, snow removal in winter, theft, replacing stolen Pendleton blankets, and damage to anything that can be ruined, broken or burnt, then I'd say it's worth a little more than Motel 6. Please go stay there if you must. And, don't forget that Airbnb tacks on their own hefty service fee on top of our nightly rate. The cabin is cleaned professionally, but it is an old log cabin with it's unique smells, old floors and implements, creaks and quirks. Not a shiny new condo! We do get mice occasionally, and bugs occasionally fly in the house. Hell, there might even be a cobweb or two that we missed... Moose frequent the yard and sometimes poop! And we are truly sorry that there is no garbage disposal in the sink. Not too many cabins had them in 1919 and we never put one in... Guest access 4WD required November to April. Park in the driveway for one to two cars.
