Perched on Pillar Mountain, in the Kodiak Island Archipelago overlooking Kodiak City, this vintage Kodiak home is full of charm and character and promises a harmonious, relaxing vacation. Admire the breathtaking views, and convenience of being one block from downtown Kodiak. Relax and recharge as you partake in adventures Kodiak has to offer from fishing, hiking, kayaking & paddle boarding. Explore museums, drink & eat great food. Meet locals. See the wildlife. There's something for everyone. This newly furnished 3 bedroom/2 bath home is equipped with all that you’ll need to make your stay a comfortable and convenient one. Design is well-thought out and attention to detail lends to maximizing the utility of the home and a spacious feel. Decor is neutral, tied together with a theme of relaxation and harmony. Hill House is the epitome of classic Kodiak and the perfect dichotomy! Outstandingly located in the heart of downtown, large picture windows frame iconic views such as the Russian Orthodox Church and the Near Island Bridge. Hill House is also a hidden gem of privacy, on Pillar Mountain, down a dirt road, offering a feeling of seclusion. This unique home is set high up on a hill and has a wraparound deck with outstanding views of town, Kodiak's bustling fishing port, snow-capped mountains & the ocean. This is the perfect place to read, relax or enjoy your coffee/glass of wine on sunny Kodiak days. HUNTERS AND FISHERMAN: there is a deep freeze in the unit and a vacuum sealer is available upon request. You provide the bags (available at Walmart). The relaxed breeze from the ocean, the unique views, bald eagles or deer in your yard create a truly restful wilderness retreat. Who knows you may even spot a Kodiak brown bear! We always recommend our guests rent a car to be fully flexible and independent. A 4-Wheel drive or studded car is advised in winter.
