Description

Spend your next getaway in this beautiful rustic modern mountain house nestled on 1 acre in the mountains of Idyllwild. The Hideaway features vaulted ceilings, is secluded yet close to town and connects directly to the National Forest. Walk out the side gate and find the May Valley HikingTrail. After a hike, enjoy the 6 person hot tub or catch an incredible Idyllwild sunset cozying up to the fire pit on the 40ft back deck. The perfect cabin to relax and recharge. Fast internet for remote work! The space 4X4 OR CHAINS MAY BE REQUIRED DURING WINTER SEASON IN IDYLLWILD! (Message us for more info) No parties allowed. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood, so we kindly ask guests to respect our neighbors. At The Hideaway you will experience 2 floors with 4 unique bedrooms, 3 decks, a front patio and 1 acre of land for everyone to hang out, play or relax. While a couple neighboring homes exist and you may catch a glimpse of the occasional neighbor from the back deck, our unique orientation is private, allowing you to unwind practically undisturbed. The perfect escape for those seeking peaceful retreats. It is a must to enjoy the 6 person hot tub with privacy wall on the front deck or walk out on the westward facing 40 foot deck and catch a beautiful Idyllwild sunset while sitting in front of the propane fire pit. Nothing like waking up to enjoy the primary bedroom patio with your coffee/tea and mountain views. Also an amazing spot for sunsets and wine. *The Hideaway has a rustic vibe and some of the natural wear and tear adds to its charm. It is a very nice and comfortable cabin, however it may not fit the 'luxury' label. If you seek a more upscale experience, you might want to explore other options. Being in the mountains, you may encounter occasional dust and leaves on patios/decks due to the windy conditions. While we do our best to keep everything tidy, perfection isn't always possible. If you notice any cleanliness issues, safety concerns, or amenities not working as expected, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! This is one of things we take a lot of pride in and our dedicated team will promptly address any issues to ensure you have a delightful stay. *Blazing Fast Fiber internet with speeds up to 500 mbps! Head into the large open kitchen, equipped with stainless steel appliances where you’ll have everything you need to prepare delicious meals for you and your guests. Enjoy your meal at our live wood dining table with rustic french doors on either side of you bringing in plenty of day light. After your meal, walk through the french doors and enjoy the hot tub or walk out of the other french doors and enjoy the fresh mountain air, outdoor couches, hammock and propane fire on the back deck. Walk up stairs and you will find 2 uniquely designed bedrooms. The first is the Primary, The Pendleton room. This room boasts high wood ceilings, wood accents, a huge window with custom wood cover, lots of natural sunlight, it's own bathroom and access to it's own private deck via the rustic french doors with comfy outdoor L couch and chair. Also upstairs is the 2nd bedroom, The Blue room, which possesses a really unique and fun design with angled walls and windows. Simple yet cozy with blue accented tongue and groove walls. While downstairs enjoying our cozy living room, you will walk under the stairs through the hallway to find the 3rd bedroom, The Sage room. It's simple design with wooden accents truly makes this room the coziest of all. Walk back into the hallway and find the 2nd full bathroom is right outside of the door. Then there is the 4th bedroom, The Cactus room, which is downstairs and is our biggest room. It features its own french doors with access to a small patio with Adirondack chairs to read or enjoy your coffee in the morning. It combos as an office, hang out room, game room and has a futon/sofa bed for extra sleeping arrangements. The 2nd full bathroom is right outside the door here as well. • AstroCamp: The Hideaway is only 5 minutes from AstroCamp — perfect for families attending programs. Other things to note: MOUNTAIN LIVING: The house is in the mountains. There is a chance you will encounter mountain insects and rodents. We have pest control, however we cannot ensure you won't see any insects or rodents. Insects you may encounter on the property are: Ants, earwigs, roaches, moths, as well as rodents such as mice, bats & rats. If you are not comfortable with this aspect of the mountains, please consider another option. CAMERAS: For everyone’s safety and peace of mind, we have a few outdoor security cameras on the property (none face the hot tub, so your privacy is respected). These cameras are used to monitor guest numbers and property security. Only the registered number of guests are permitted on the property—unapproved visitors or extra guests are strictly prohibited. Bringing additional guests beyond your reservation may result in immediate cancellation of your stay and/or a fine of $250 per unauthorized guest per night. Recent construction: New decks - possible nails/screws left over from construction. We've combed, but be cautious with kids/dogs! Travel Insurance: We do not offer refunds for weather events or natural conditions. We highly suggest purchasing travel insurance. It covers weather-related cancellations and safeguards your entire trip. • Driveway & Access: The driveway is unpaved/gravel, which is very typical in Idyllwild. GPS is accurate to the home, and we provide extremely clear turn-by-turn directions and a short video to make arrival simple. • Blackout Curtains: All bedrooms except the primary Pendleton room have blackout curtains. The primary has a custom wooden window cover that blocks most morning light. We may add black out if enough guests request. • Climate Control: Central heating + a mini-split heater/AC unit in the large downstairs Cactus room and primary bedroom. Instructions for all systems are provided in the digital guidebook and binder. If anything feels off or unclear during your stay, please message us — we respond quickly and can resolve almost anything in minutes. Guest access Full access to the entire house except a few closets off limits to guests including: the crawl spaces, 2 owners closets for tools and supplies, 2 cabinets in laundry room for cleaning supplies and 2 horse stalls full of owners supplies. You won't be missing out on anything :) Other things to note We do not have traditional cable. We have 2 smart TVs, a NEW 65" above the fireplace and 47" in the den with access to NETFLIX only. (Feel free to log into any of your own accounts, but don't forget to log out!) Please check Caltrans for weather conditions. If it's snowing, we will do our best to plow our long driveway for you, upon arrival. The roads into Idyllwild, main roads and road to our cabin are plowed but you still might need 4x4 and/or chains. 2 night minimum...but for holidays like President's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day & Veteran's day we require a three night minimum. For July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years we require a four night minimum. Our pet fee is $55 (2 dog limit) and while we love cats, regretfully they are not allowed. (Check house rules for Dog rules and info) Check in is at 3pm and check out is at 10am. Early or late check in and out can be arranged for a small fee, if possible.
