Welcome to Chalet Wickie surrounded by three natural beauties: the Bavarian Forest National Park, the Ilz river landscape and the border triangle with Austria and the Czech Republic. Our house on the sunny southern slope with terrace (fenced) and garden has soul and is a mirror of nature with charm and a lot of love for detail. On warm summer evenings, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset with a glass of wine on the terrace. Small herb garden and barbecue are at your disposal at any time of year. Wooden shed for bicycles/skis is right next to the terrace. If necessary, skates, skis or tennis rackets and 2 bikes are also available. Children's playgrounds are very close by. Forest, meadows and mountains, cycling and hiking trails right outside the front door. The village square of Haus im Wald is within walking distance of 400 meters, where there is an inn with its own butcher's shop. In the village, there is an Edeka grocery store, bakery (offers bread service), post office, bank, hair salon and liquor store especially for whiskey (whiskyworld). The Grafenau climatic health resort (8 km) offers plenty of adventure for all ages, as well as opportunities to stop and stroll. From the spa adventure park with a wave pool, one of the longest summer toboggan runs, and an ice rink (also open in summer) to the animal outdoor area and treetop path. The proximity of Passau (35 km) invites you to take a trip to the old town or a boat trip to Vienna. You can explore our neighboring country Czech Republic (border about 35 km) and visit the town of Český Krumlov - which is also poetically called gate to the Bohemian Forest. Ski center Mittendorf, Brotjacklriegel or Arber are about 30 km away, cross-country skiing trails and ski lifts can be found in the immediate vicinity. Many natural swimming lakes within a radius of 8-20 km (Lake Dreiburgensee, Ebenreuth See, Eginger See, Hohenauer Badeweiher) or the river Ilz about 800 m away.
