Nyanja Cottage: on the beach in Cape Maclear

Nyanja cottage is a thatched house in the middle of Cape Maclear with stunning views of the lake and direct access to the beach. There are three spacious double bedrooms (all with mosquito nets & fans), a living area, a small kitchen and plenty of car parking space. It is owned by our family who live in the village and will be your hosts during your stay. The space Nyanja Cottage is a two storey thatched building right on Lake Malawi ("Nyanja" means "Lake" in the local language Chichewa). The cottage is fully-furnished with 3 spacious double bedrooms - two upstairs with a shared toilet and shower, and one large en-suite double bedroom downstairs. All rooms have mosquito nets and fans.There is a lounge and kitchen on the ground-floor. The cottage is very spacious and there is plenty of room to accommodate additional people if required. The Cottage is situated right in the heart of Cape Maclear Village with great views of the Lake and sunset, and easy access to shops and activities in the local village. Guest access Guests will have full access to the house and front garden. There is a large fenced area to the rear of the property, where up to 4 cars can be parked. Other things to note Grace, our housekeeper, will visit every day to make beds and clean. We understand that some people prefer their privacy, so you can discuss directly with Grace once you are there and arrange with her how often you would like her to visit. There is a security guard on the property overnight. If you fancy some traditional, freshly cooked Malawian food brought straight to your doorstep, just ask us and we will prepare a delicious meal for you in our own kitchen (for a small charge). If you would like a guided tour of the village or a sunset boat cruise in a local fishing boat, we would be happy to arrange these for you too.
