Description
Charming, cosy and unique cottage a stones throw from the sea in charming Newlyn - one of the last fully operational fishing harbours in the UK. Treat yourself and stay at this 100 year old cottage newly and entirely renovated to a very high spec - including dedicated parking. The cottage has a wonderful history where crab baskets were woven in support of the famous Newlyn crab and fishing industry. It is located a few meters from the fishing harbour and Newlyn's famous seaside coastal walk. The space The cottage oozes coziness with its wooden sash windows and exposed Cornish granite and original wooden beams. The upper level has the living room and kitchen area (with a beautiful bay window and a spectacular old Cornish stone wall). There is a quaint outside balcony where you can sit and take in the afternoon sun or watch the world go by and boats entering into Newlyn harbour in the distance. The upper level also has a large bedroom with a kingsize bed, ample storage and a desk if you'd like to use it as a place to work. There is also a dramatic bathroom with a freestanding bath with period fittings. The groundfloor level has a second bedroom with charming exposed wooden beams and an en-suite bathroom with shower - all done to a high spec. There is a 3rd bed fold away bed that can be arranged for the groundfloor bedroom on request. There is new washing machine, washing up area with a butler sink, and clothes dryer (located in an outside storage area). The design includes top of the range appliances and art by local artists. We also love marine antiques - brass portholes reclaimed from vintage sailing ships, a silver lamp rescued from an ocean liner and many more - see if you can spot them hidden throughout the cottage. Guest access Fully access to the entire house. Other things to note No smoking, no parties, no pets, and no loud music and please be respectful of the neighbours (which include local fishermen and families who have been in town for decades - they have wonderful stories!) . This is a 'shoes off' house as it was just renovated.
