It was owned by Dr. Joseph Danley Budd. Dr. Budd moved to Two Harbors in 1889 and was the chief surgeon for the railroad in Two Harbors. Budd was an active member in the community serving in various civic capacities and social clubs. Budd was one of the original 5 founders of the 3M company. Budd rebuilt his hospital in 1902 and sold his residence and part of the hospital to Herman W. Cable, who moved the building three blocks north to its current location. Herman W. Cable was a local business owner and one of the original 5 owners of 3M. The home fell into grave disrepair in the 1980s and was in danger of demolition. We saw the potential beauty and purchased the home in 1994. We did all the renovations and raised our family here. We made our own history here with our passion for Halloween. Along with our neighbors, we put on the best family-friendly Halloween party in town! Now, we are excited to share the history and charm with our guests. We love our life long home of Two Harbors and invite you to share in the magic of our home and small town. Thank you for checking out the Budd Residence!
