This historic lodge is perched overlooking the Meramec River. There are several suites, each featuring a unique theme. The Speakeasy Suite is a simple, warm and lush way to unwind after a day on the river or relaxing in a hammock reading a book. This will leave you refreshed and ready to experience all nature has to offer! You can cook your meals in the outdoor kitchen or with a riverside bonfire. The suite is an open floor plan; a curtain separates the bedroom and living room that has a daybed. The Meramec Riverside Lodge & Retreat is located on the banks of Meramec River. The rooms face the river with a shared sitting area on the deck outside the room. The rooms are open spaced with beds, sitting area, table and chairs, microwave, and coffee station. We work closely with a local floating outfitter and will help make arrangements for your float on the Meramec, starting out your front door. The outfitter will pick you up at the end of your float and bring you back to the lodge for a relaxing evening. The lodge is nestled amongst 10 acres of oak and hickory Ozark Forest along the Meramec River. You will have access to the river front, bring your fishing pole, water shoes and swimming suits! You will also have access to the outdoor kitchen, and firepit for an evening of resting by the fire. With an appointment the Historical Lodge is available to tour which is the owners living space. I am always available to answer any questions and help make your stay memorable. I will get you settled answer any questions and then let you enjoy your self, yet always a text or call away. To see the main lodge is by appointment only but will be happy to make time for the tour! The lodge is a great place the nature lover, as well as the art and wine/beer enthusiast. There are numerous rivers to float including the Meramec, Huzzah and Courtois rivers. All three rivers are great for fishing, swimming, or a relaxing float. The Mark Twain Conservation area/Ozark Trail is another attraction for hunting, hiking and exploring. Maramec Springs Park, Meramec State Park, Onondaga Cave, Steelville’s Bike Park and Little Prairie Conservation Area are all local attractions for getting outside and seeing Missouri's natural beauty. For the wine, artisan beer and art lovers the area towns including Cuba, Steelville and Rolla all have active art councils with events throughout the season as well as the famous murals throughout Cuba. The wineries also host music and art events with some of the best food in the area. Check out Belmont Vineyards, Peaceful Bend Winery, & St. James Winery. For the artisan beer check out Public House Brewing Company next to St. James Winery. For the music lovers we also have Wildwood Springs Lodge and Meramec Music Threatre all within short driving distance. Audrey’s Eatery, Missouri Hick BBQ, Frisco’s Grill & Pub and Riviera Maya Mexican Grill are some great places to eat in Cuba, MO. Just a Taste and Sybill’s are also in St. James for a classy dining experience. There are numerous antique and artisan shops for the shopper also in the area. We are in the center of some amazing beauty, events and are a destination of opportunity, relaxation and fun within ourselves. Come relax and rejuvenate at our peaceful and scenic lodge. The lodge is located on a scenic gravel road 5 miles south of Cuba MO. The lodge is nestled in the woods along the river so lots of free parking is available. The rooms are located on the ground floor with a few steps getting up onto the deck to the room entrance. Access is just under a mile of gravel road. We work hard to maintain it, but very low riding vehicles and motorcycles need to be aware and proceed with caution. We also have our beloved dogs and cats on the grounds.
