Stroll through the town with its many little shops, cafés and restaurants or take a gentle walk by the shores of Derwentwater. For a more relaxed day drive, head into the stunning Eden Valley with its lush green countryside and traditional market towns and villages like Appleby and Kirkby Stephen, and a must is a trip on the Settle to Carlisle railway line which runs through the Eden Valley.
