The Brown County Barn Burner can sleep up to 29 people and consists of four unique units, totaling nine bedrooms, six bathrooms, a rooftop patio, and four on-site parking spaces. Each unit has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, as well as a sleeper sofa.

When you rent the entire Brown County Barn Burner, you get exclusive access to all four unique units, the rooftop patio, and four on-site parking spaces:

• 1-North – Sink into relaxation in 1-North, as you’re surrounded by dark and cozy shades of blue.  High ceilings, natural materials, and classic details ensure this tone-on-tone space feels cozy and timeless.  Our one bedroom, one bath unit with twin sleeper loveseat has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, private patio and can sleep up to 3 people.

1-North is also our only unit that’s considered fully ADA-accessible, with wider doorways and hallways, a tiled roll-in shower, and other thoughtful considerations that can be enjoyed by all visitors.

• 2-South – Warm hues and cozy furnishings will surround you with an inviting glow in 2-South.  High ceilings, natural materials, and classic details ensure this soothing space feels timeless, but with a modern twist.  This two bedroom, one bath unit, with sleeper sofa, has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, access to the shared rooftop patio via an interior stairway, and can sleep up to 6 people.

• 3-East – Feel your spirits lift as you enter the light and airy second floor unit that is 3-East. Vaulted ceilings, natural materials, and classic details ensure this bright space feels spacious, yet is still cozy and welcoming.  This three bedroom, two bath unit, with sleeper sofa, has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, walk-out access to the shared rooftop patio, and can sleep up to 10 people.

• 3-West – Find yourself transported to simpler times and cozy surroundings in 3-West, our moody and colorful second floor unit. Vaulted ceilings, natural materials, and classic details help showcase the colors, textures, and beauty of nature in Brown County.

This three bedroom, two bath unit, with sleeper sofa, has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, walk-out access to the shared rooftop patio, and can sleep up to 10 people.

Layout of the Units: 1-North and 2-South are adjoining units on the ground-floor that can be combined by opening the shared pass through door between the two units. 3-East is a second-floor unit located directly above the 1-North and 2-South units and across the shared rooftop patio from 3-West, which has a mirror image layout to 3-East. 3-West is a second-floor unit located above the Brown County Bikes retail shop space.

NEWLY COMPLETED

The Brown County Barn Burner is a new addition to downtown, Nashville, Indiana.  Construction was completed in October, 2020 and we welcomed our first guests in mid-November, 2020.

We are excited to build a name and reputation for providing a one-of-a-kind, unmatched hospitality experience in Brown County.

LOCATION

The newly constructed Brown County Barn Burner is located at 185 S Jefferson St, near the corner of Jefferson and Washington Streets, at the former home of the “Barnyard Shoppes.” It’s a quiet corner of town, but still just a few easily walkable blocks from the heart of Nashville, Indiana and all it has to offer – including shopping, restaurants, art galleries and studios, coffee shops, and much more.

Located less than ¼ of a mile from the trailhead of the Salt Creek Trail, guests can comfortably walk or bike the ¾ mile paved trail to reach the Brown County Music Center, Brown County YMCA, local IGA grocery store, and other shops and restaurants in the Salt Creek Plaza. Or hop in your car, and maybe load up your bikes, to head to the Brown County State Park, Yellowwood State Forest, Lake Monroe, nearby Bloomington or Columbus, Indiana, or numerous other nearby attractions.

There are four dedicated parking spots at the “back” of the building, off Honeysuckle Lane. Honeysuckle Lane is one-way, running to the south (Washington Street), and can be accessed from Pittman House Lane, or any other cross street to the north. If additional parking is needed, there is plenty of free street parking nearby, along with several free public parking lots.

KITCHEN

Each kitchen is well-stocked with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay, including stainless steel Samsung appliances (electric range, microwave, French door refrigerator and freezer, and dishwasher) and butcher block countertops, plus plates, cups, mugs, utensils, pots and pans, coffee and tea making supplies, and basic cooking ingredients. A gas grill is also available for your use on the patio.

You can make your own meals if you want to enjoy a slower start to your morning or a night in, or walk a few blocks to one of the many restaurants in Nashville, knowing you can easily store any leftovers once you’re back.
