Welcome to Merryall Manor, a charming 5 BDR house in Litchfield County close to everything, but far from the hustle & bustle of downtown. Merryall Manor features 2 living rooms, each with a fireplace, downstairs has been converted into a game room complete with a full sized air hockey table, cocktail pac-man machine & record player. 1 king BDR, 3 queen BDRs, 1 twin room with trundle, 3 full bathrooms, dining room, kitchen, screened porch, fire pit, gas grill & wood burning grill, on 2 acres Follow us on IG @merryallmanor Merryall Manor is decorated eclectically with art that I have collected over the years and from around the world. You can enjoy your meals in the dining room, screened porch, a picnic bench on a plateau overlooking the flowering trees and plants, or on a stone table by the fire pit for your s'mores parties. Driveway can accommodate 5 cars AMENITIES OF NOTE: Vitamix blender Cuisinart food processor Ice cream maker Instant pot In an attempt to be as sustainable as possible, we have done away with disposable K cups, and encourage guests to recycle and we will soon be composting, but waiting for the city to approve. Construction has just been completed on the primary bedroom and bathroom, please see the new photos. Guests will be given a door code to access for the period of their rental. I try to stay local when the house is rented, but I am always easily accessible by phone! Merryall, New Milford, Connecticut. The section of New Milford known as Merryall is set in the beautiful hills of Litchfield County in the northern part of New Milford, between Kent and New Preston. It has long been an extremely popular section of town. The homes are nestled in a highly wooded area, with homes, large estates and farms spotting the countryside. You will need a car to get around New Milford and the surrounding towns. The closest Metro North station is Harlem Valley-Wingdale and is approximately 20 mins away by car. There is one hiking trail that is within walking distance 10 minutes from The South Kent School 14 minutes from The Canterbury School 15 minutes from The Kent School 15 minutes from Fredrick Gunn School 20 minutes from Marvelwood School 28 mins from Mohawk Mountain Ski Area 35 mins to Lime Rock Park/Raceway LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Things to do in New Milford (And Surrounding areas) Candlewood Lake and Lake Waramaug both have public beaches and are nearby. 10-mile distillery tours are available by appointment only on their website Bowling New Milford Lanes CT wine trail There are 9 wineries all within 1 hour of the house. Candlewood Mountain The trail connects two of the Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy’s preserves on Candlewood Mountain. Hikers will have to use their hands on this trek, most notably at the giant pile of boulders known as the “corkscrew,” where the trail spirals up through a mammoth heap of fallen bedrock. Cobble Brook Vista, Kent The trail offers instant gratification as you walk through the meadow and hikers can continue through the meadow and climb the steep, wild flanks that rise above Cobble Brook. Cobble Mountain, Kent NCLC has worked since 1982 to protect areas around Macedonia State Park. The trail has both the steepest climb (630 vertical feet) and the most dramatic vistas of any Northwest Connecticut Land Conservancy preserve. Herrick Preserve, Sherman The Herrick Preserve’s mixed hardwood forest offers easy hiking and gentle slopes. It is a 1.25-mile hike to the Housatonic Overlook that gives hikers a beautiful view to the northeast and up the river valley. Irene's Woods, Sherman A moderate walk that will take you past rock outcrops, vernal pools, and a scenic overlook. Mallory Preserve, Sherman A long boardwalk takes you through a wetland to a rolling loop trail along Sawmill Brook. Mount Tom Preserve, New Milford An easy 1.3-mile looped trail from Mount Tom Road. The hike can be extended by taking the trail to the Pratt Nature Center. Mildred Strauss and James Morrissey Family Nature Preserve, Gaylordsville This preserve contains varied landscapes and species as well as a trail that quickly puts the hustle and bustle of the Route 7 corridor out of sight and sound. Tory’s Cave and The Eleanor and Howard Hunt Nature Preserves, New Milford Tory’s Cave is closed to the public. The preserve still offers 0.4 miles of trails and a central access point to the 6-mile Housatonic Range Trail which is part of the Connecticut Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail System. Towner Hill Preserve, Sherman, CT 06784 The Towner Hill Preserve features impressive glacial erratics. These massive boulders were left behind at the end of the last ice age. West Briggs Hill, Sherman After steep climb up the first hill, enjoy the moderate rolling loop trail. This trail is a hit with trail runners as well as birdwatchers. Wildwoods Nature Preserve, Sharon It captures our best stand of northern hardwoods and has a plentiful food supply for wildlife. Quiet exploration will reveal its treasures. Wimisink Preserve, Sherman The Wimisink Preserve’s boardwalks and observation platform offer excellent wildlife viewing. This preserve has a 330-foot-long boardwalk accessible from the parking lot. The northern boardwalk has a gentle slope and is 5-feet wide with curbing.
