So, now a bit about our place: You found one of the rare - large house/cottage in the County right on the water with a "real" beach; not a retaining wall with water on the other side or a small dock with only a tiny area to enter the water, nor one showing carefully angled pictures making you wonder what the beach actually looks like or, worse if there are weeds. We believe our beach is one of the nicest rentals in the County; your kids will swim every day for hours. We are on scenic West Lake (Sheba's Island) facing west to catch spectacular sunsets across Lake Ontario, with the Sandbanks Dunes just a short bike ride away. To appreciate our cottage's fantastic location and how close you would be to Sandbanks, go to G Earth (NOT to G Maps) and enter: "Sheba's Island, Prince Edward, Ontario." Throughout your stay, spend your days lounging at your private beach with shallow water entry for swimming or float for hours on either the inflatable island or the extra large "Lilly Pad" mat, or grab one of the other floating toys from the boathouse. Read or relax by the shore watching ducks go by while enjoying the beautiful view, or cast a line to test your luck with our fishing rods. Take the canoe out for a paddle or test your balance on the paddleboard. If you are hooked on Netflix, don't worry; the cottage internet reaches the end of the dock. Eat all your meals under the large covered balcony off the kitchen on the family-sized rustic dining table as you marvel at the spectacular sunsets. A balcony off the primary bedroom is great for that morning coffee, while a patio near the water is ideal for your BBQ lunch as you watch the kids. In addition, the third patio is perfect for playing cards, reading or taking those dreaded Zoom work calls (yes, there is an office printer). During the evening, gather everyone around the extra-large fire pit at the waterfront and enjoy huge flames from the historical County steel canning bucket. Afterwards, hang out all night in the large games room, watching movies, playing pool, and having family fun. You will love the sunny, fully equipped "chef's" kitchen overlooking the water. Our guests consistently rave that they have never rented a place with everything needed to create gourmet meals. You will start the day for breakfast with a perfect coffee from the commercial Jura Z coffee/cappuccino/espresso machine. We even supply Lavazza beans. After your first coffee, you will find: high-end appliances (convection oven/induction cooktop/ice maker fridge) and all the roasting/baking/lobster/wok/rice maker/pizza stones/cast iron/Le Creuset pans you would ever need, plus many other specialty cookware items. You will also enjoy the Soda Stream unit, gourmet waffle maker, smoothie blender, snow cone maker, etc. etc. Not only do we leave a large assortment of sundries for cooking and baking, but if we are missing something you need, use the "NO receipt needed" $200 petty cash envelope to pick it up in Picton. Choose from multiple china sets to use as "everyday dishes" to create the perfect dining experience. Local artists' serving platters, table linens, cloth napkins, candles, and oil lamps further allow you to create special memories. An XL-sized infrared BBQ just off the kitchen is perfect for grilling, and the Big Green Egg smoker can make the perfect brisket for a family picnic on the Dunes. Relax on the kitchen's comfy chairs, read one of the many cookbooks while enjoying local county wine (kept chilled in the wine fridge), and chat with the chef. Enjoy four Smart TVs with over 500 channels, including all movie, sports, kids' specialty, and French-language channels. Of course, each TV plays Netflix for your binge-watching pleasure. There's also an extensive collection of DVDs for those who need even more screen time. Spend the day lounging on the living room's overstuffed, deep, goose-down-filled sofa while you watch movies and drift off to sleep. Head downstairs to the well-appointed media room, which features cozy—huge—couches, a large TV with great sound, and a card-playing area with a wet bar and fridge. On the other side of the cottage is a games room with books, arts and crafts, and board games. An entire wall is covered with a gigantic whiteboard on which the kids will have endless fun drawing pictures of their daily adventures. Pug your video game system into the third TV, and if you shut the privacy door, you'll never see the kids for the entire week! Of course, an excellent family vacation must include many fun things. In addition to the cottage's 3,400 sq/ft, there is a real games area for family tournaments, more comfy couches for napping, and, of course, another TV to watch movies all night long. Have a blast playing the commercial tournament "bar" dart machine, shuffle alley, foosball, ping pong, commercial air hockey game, pool table, the insanely fun modern Jurassic Park Premium plus Wizard of Oz 75th Edition pinball machines, the classic Virtua Cop 2 (first-person shooting ) arcade game, and finally, a MAME with 3,000 video games, including all the classics like Space Invaders/Galaga/PAC Man plus the newer games for the kids. Are you still bored? Move outdoors for a game of croquet or horseshoes, let the kids go biking (included), or bounce on the trampoline nestled among the trees next to the hammock. Or there's always a visit to the large "tree condo." Let the kids eat breakfast on the Tree Fort's balcony or hide in its two rooms. Yes, it, too, has wifi. If the kids still can't find anything to do at the cottage, the County wakeboard school for tubing is only a ten-minute walk away. Finally, right next door, you can rent a jet ski or a pontoon boat for a BBQ outing to the Dunes. We have this cottage for our kids and friends to have fun. Yours will also love it. The County's STA rules allow us to rent four guest bedrooms. Our cottage, though, has one additional room set aside for those guests who may prefer to sleep in a room with two Double beds. We limit the total number of guests to a maximum of ten guests. Upstairs is the Primary bedroom with a King bed, the second bedroom has a Queen bed, and the kids' room has a Double/Double bunk bed (Note: the bunks have just been separated to become two double beds side by side). Downstairs are two bedrooms, each with queen-sized beds. Included in your rental and only a very partial list: Two Sandbanks Park car entry Season all-day passes, beach towels, everything you would need for the beach, tons of supplies ranging from lighters to batteries to ink for the printer, a full range of supplies for the kitchen (including all baking sundries and even beans for the cappuccino machine), and of course laundry room supplies, lots of firewood, candles, oil for the outdoor table lamps, bug repellant, etc. etc. etc. Our guests repeat stay with us as they appreciate that, as we use the cottage on alternative weeks, you would be renting a "real" family high-end cottage with character: NOT an “IKEA-styled” cookie-cutter commercial property. Short Summary: Yes, the cottage has full laundry facilities as well as central AC. Maximum ten persons allowed Non-shedding dogs are allowed (we have two), but you must contact us to discuss. No smoking inside - ever. Check-in @ 4:00 pm, Check-out @10:30 am. A $3,000 damage deposit is required $450 cottage cleaning fee $300 pet cleaning fee (sorry, the cleaners charge us this amount as they send an additional person) We are legally required to collect and remit a 4% MAT/County guest tax Please ask to read our Rental Agreement before you book.
