Sleeping 9 people, Big Tree Retreat is the perfect place for your group to escape to when you want to relax, unwind and spend some quality time together. Our energy efficient cabin, built in 2019, showcases modern décor, floor to ceiling windows perfect for taking in the forest & river views, a roomy kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a cozy wood stove for those chilly winter nights. We also have a hot tub! The space Our newly built cabin, located on the beautiful Salmon River, features a beautiful setting with floor to ceiling windows, stainless steel appliances and a cozy wood stove. The spacious kitchen and dining area has direct access to the porch and hot tub; perfect for enjoying the Mt. Hood forest and river views while sipping coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. Upstairs features a separate loft area where kids will love to play games or watch TV. The basement is the perfect area to spread out, play foosball or relax watching a movie on the smart TV. Both TVs feature new DVD players with an extensive selection of DVDs. And don't forget to relax in our stunning 5 person hot tub! Step outside and you’ll find a covered patio furnished with a brand new Weber propane BBQ, dining table and chairs. The magnificent Douglas Fir tree on our property is 500+ years old and is considered an ecological gem. Arborists claim it is one of the oldest Douglas Firs in the area! While the surrounding area offers tremendous opportunities for outdoor activities, Big Tree Retreat is your personal refuge and opportunity to reconnect with friends or family. Sleeping arrangements: Main floor - queen bed (sleeps 2) & full bathroom 2nd floor - queen bed (sleeps 2) & full bathroom Basement bedroom - bottom bunk bed full (sleeps 2); top bunk (sleeps 1) Basement den - futon full (sleeps 2) & half bathroom Feel good about staying in our energy efficient home. Features include blown in dense pack fiberglass wall insulation, .23 U value triple pane windows, 13.5 HSPF high efficient hyper heat Mitsubishi ductless systems, advanced framing techniques including raised heel energy trusses and whole house air sealing, whole house Energy Recovery Ventilator, Tier 3 Heat Pump Water Heater, and all LED lighting! Please note: No parties, weddings or events. Max guests is 9. No exceptions and fines & fees will apply. See House Rules for more info. Our property is equipped with active external security cameras for your protection and ours. What’s nearby: The Mt. Hood area offers so much to experience including the nearby towns of Welches and Rhododendron with a variety of restaurants and shops. Aside from a grocery store, medical clinic, and gas station, you will also find an eclectic wine shop, liquor store, coffee house, pizza parlor, golf course, and a bike shop, all within three miles of our home. For fly fishing and kayaking, the Salmon River is right in your own backyard! Hike and climb in the Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness and Mt. Hood National Forest. Just a short drive away, visit Government Camp where you will find the Mt. Hood Adventure Park with over 20 exciting activities to choose from including an alpine slide, ziplines, a mountain biking park, and much, much more. And each winter, skiers and snowboarders will want to hit the slopes at Mt. Hood Skibowl, Timberline Lodge, or Mt. Hood Meadows. Guest access 4X4 vehicles (or snow chains) are recommended to access our cabin during the winter months of November-March. Our cabin is near the end of a dirt road which is not serviceable by a snow plow. Other things to note Our cabin has good internet. Unfortunately, cell phone service is not always reliable.
