Description
Take the chance to slow down & recharge in a unique 'modern meets historic' boathouse that sits perfectly on the water’s edge of tranquil Lake Vanderkamp. 2 bedrooms face the water so you can open your eyes in the morning and greet the day with stunning views. Enjoy your own dock and canoe. While at Vanderkamp you will share 850 acres of privately managed forest (with hiking trails and LOTS of amenities) with only a few other lodges. You won't want to leave this ultimate escape. The space Vanderkamp is a Wilderness Retreat set on 850 remote acres in Upstate New York. We are dedicated to cultivating unique, immersive, and supremely hospitable experiences that inspire people to discover the joy of connecting to the natural world. We welcome you to The Boathouse. Modern, clean, and surprisingly spacious, our recently renovated boathouse is the perfect place to begin your restorative reconnection experience. Sitting perfectly on the water's edge, we’ve purposefully designed every aspect to pull your consciousness into the natural world around you. As you leave your car and walk past the original outdoor fireplace and towards the entrance, you’ll want to pause for a moment to take in the beauty of the forest. Ahead of you awaits a vacation unlike any other. Slip off your shoes in the main foyer as you make your way into the lower floor of the boathouse. In front of you, you’ll see two beautiful bedrooms with sliding door access to the lake. We recommend starting your days off by taking in the stunning views of Lake Vanderkamp from the comfort of your cozy bed. To your left is the shower room with a separate vanity and water closet, and to your right, a staircase to the upper floor. When you make your way up this staircase you’ll immediately find yourself immersed in a bright and open living space accented by high contrast vaulted ceilings as well as the original indoor fireplace and clerestory windows. Listen to the crackling of flames while you prepare your dinner or enjoy the warmth of the sun on your face as you relax in one of many areas we’ve converted to help you slow things down. In the evening, you may want to make way through either of the two sets of French doors behind you, where you’ll emerge into our sitting room, a place where only a privileged few have enjoyed the unmatched panoramic views of our piece of paradise. Relax in our wooden arc hammock or sip a glass of wine in one of our rocking chairs while you watch the sunset over the forest. When the weather permits, be sure to enjoy your very own private dock and personal canoe that you can use to explore the lake. Early morning rows across the misty water will make for some of the most enchanting moments of your stay with us. The Boathouse is 1 of 5 lodges at Vanderkamp. There is another lodge about 200 feet away. ___About VK___ Available in the Fall is VK's newest amenity, White Pine Spa, offering a sauna, cold plunge, fitness room, salt room, and magnificent forest views from a Scandinavian inspired spa lounge.
