The beach is of course what will draw you to Rockaway Beach. Seven miles of glorious sand is a 3 minute walk away. The fantastic gathering place that is our house, is the other reason. This large, private, compound consists of three buildings. The main house, a cottage containing two single beds and an office area, plus the piece de resistance...... the converted barn. Play table tennis, sing karaoke, or just settled back with friends to watch the big game on the 75" smart TV. This tastefully furnished, newly remodeled, 1912 house has large living spaces that are perfect for multiple families or friends to enjoy. A big eat-in kitchen complete with a dining table for 8, a large living room with wood burning fireplace, 65" TV and a table for 4, plus the barn with a 75" TV. Ideal for watching the World Cup, Superbowl, March Madness, Wimbledon. You name it! Plenty of room for groups to spread out or kids to get away from parents or visa versa. A box of wood is provided free of charge and can be used for the wood burning fireplace, the outside fire pit or take it to the beach for a night time fire adventure. There are a few camping chairs available for you to take to the beach along with a bucket for the wood. All the bedrooms have new beds and new mattresses, complete with Pottery Barn bedding. The two main bedrooms are upstairs with one featuring a queen sized bed and the other offering a queen and a double - with a little privacy curtain. BUT there is NO bathroom upstairs so if you get up a lot in the night, upstairs may not be for you. There are two full bathrooms on the main floor, along with a bunk bed bedroom featuring a single bed up above and a double down below. The living room also has two single sized futons. See Welcome Book at property for set up instructions. The cottage is separate from the main house. Good for teenagers to escape from the old people or, have the snorer sleep in the cottage! But there is no bathroom in the cottage, so think of it as a posh, rustic experience. The barn has a queen sized futon in it and a half bathroom. There are board games galore, a karaoke machine (bring your own AA batteries as the microphones go through them) and a full-size ping long table. Bring your work out gear! We have 2 yoga mats and weights and bands. Mirrors complete the gym experience. You can tell your friends you are on a "yoga retreat". Enjoy the bar area complete with mini fridge and sink. All in all, an amazing gathering space. Last but not least, the outside space. Please clean the BBQ after use - otherwise extra charges may be applied. Plenty of room for friends around the fire pit, lots of outside gathering spots, a table for six diners, an outdoor shower and of course, the hot tub. Enjoy the stars from the warmth of the hot tub but make sure to wash off before getting in! Please don't take towels to the beach but bring your own beach towels. There is ample parking for 4 cars in the driveway and the quiet, dead end road has further parking opportunities. The fully fenced yard makes this a dog friendly option. Be aware that the house is close to the Post Office. You may hear early morning noise, especially if you are sleeping in the barn or the cottage. Rockaway Beach is in a Tsunami Zone. Evacuation procedures are posted at the property. Note: Cleaners are following all CDC/OHA, and Tillamook County best practice cleaning guidelines for Covid-19. Prior to guest arrival and 48 hours in advance an email will be sent to each party requiring the following. 1. Confirmation that no person in their party has recently experienced any flu or cold symptoms or had a fever within the last 10 days. 2. No person in their party has been exposed to or interacted with a person who has tested positive for COVID 19 within the last 14 days 3. Guests will follow social distancing measures for the duration of their stay. 4. Guests acknowledge Tillamook County resident concerns related to increased risk of exposure of COVID-19 in Tillamook County rural communities as we move into summer vacation season and that all guests will make every effort to be good citizens and respectful neighbors during their stay. This includes adhering to the hours of quiet time (10 PM to 7 AM), parking requirements, and contact person response times as outlined in Tillamook County Ordinance #84 All areas. Call or text if you have an issue. Three minutes to the awesome beach. Walk to get coffee or breakfast, with the main restaurants of Rockaway being steps away. Go to the carts and get an Indian or Thai! Or treat yourself to a burrito. The convenience store is a 2 min. walk if you forget anything and Garibaldi has a larger market - a 7 min. drive away with Tillamook having a Fred Meyer store about 20 mins. away . You really have it all with this location. Bring you bikes and ride up through the hills on old logging trails. Go for a hike. Rent a boat at Kelly's Marina. Go horse-riding. Drive to Manzanita and Cannon Beach. There is actually too much to do.
