Thunder Mountain Riverfront Cabin - Caddo Gap, AR

A peaceful, secluded Cabin In The Woods experience on the South Fork of the Caddo River. This 80+ acre property is all yours to explore alone with no other homes or cabins anywhere on the property. The property extends across both sides of the river with 1/3 mile of river frontage. Swim, kayak, fish, & relax. It's the perfect location for couples, honeymoons, anniversaries, or even escaping on your own for a private sabbatical. Pets are only allowed for couples without children. Fast WiFi! The space This secluded 1100 sq-ft, 1.5 story cabin-in-the-woods sits high above the S.Fork Caddo River. The cabin is surrounded by 80 private acres of pine and hardwood, with beautiful views of the river, trees, and surrounding mountains. Enjoy the outdoor bathhouse and an amazing deck with three landings that floats amongst the trees and leads all the way down to the river's edge (118 steps). At the river, the property extends across both sides of the water up and down stream for extra seclusion. The wrap around deck at the cabin has outdoor seating, a picnic table, grill (propane tank included), and views at every level. Inside, a comfortable living area flows into a fully equipped kitchen, down the hall to a private bedroom, and upstairs to a large loft bedroom. The indoor bathroom is small but clean with a full-sized tub and shower. Both bedrooms have a queen bed and twin bed. The outdoor bathhouse will be one of your favorite places to spend time with nature - shower, bathe, or just relax. It is private, yet open to the trees and river view. 3-night minimum stay required. Summer and some holidays require a 4-night stay. Guest access The 80 acre property around the cabin is yours to explore alone. Four miles of private trails lead you through the forest on both sides of the river. You are unlikely to see another human during your stay unless you venture downstream to the bridge a quarter mile away. Note: The last mile to the cabin is a dirt road. The last 1/2 mile has some ruts and a steep hill just before arriving at the cabin. Small cars are usually fine in dry weather, but a small SUV or better is recommended, especially during rainy or icy weather. Other things to note Remote Location! Although only 15 minutes from Glenwood, there are some things to be aware of when visiting a cabin in the woods. The roads leading to the property are paved until you reach the final mile. The gravel/dirt road is in good shape until you reach the final 1/2 mile. Here, you will encounter a few ruts in the road that may cause problems for small or low-riding cars. The final portion of the road leads up a very steep hill to the cabin. Rain or snow will make the hill slick, so be careful as you ascend the hill, and keep going, don't stop. AT&T works only about 10% of the time at the cabin. Verizon is better at about 50%. Wi-Fi Calling works great near the cabin. We keep the cabin as clean as possible - inside and out. However, since it is a solitary cabin in the woods, it's not like a hotel. It's more wild and natural. You will likely encounter some spider webs and other nature trying to get inside. But it's a wonderful, comfortable place if you are looking for a cabin! Inside dogs are only allowed for couples without kids. A pet fee is required. Outside dogs are welcome if they stay outside and don't scratch at the door or chew things up. We have a large kennel under the cabin, or you may bring a portable kennel to keep on the porch.
