Rose Cottage is a newly constructed detatched cottage in the heart of Winforton near Hay-On-Wye (5 miles away) and 14 miles from Hereford offering contempory 3 bedroomed accommodation with stunning views across open countryside. The space Rose Cottage is detactched with 3 double bedrooms, bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed and ensuite with a shower cubicle, bedroom 2 has single beds which on request can be joined together to make a superking, the main family bathroom is on the first floor and has a bath and a separate shower cubilcle. Bedroom 3 is on the ground floor and again has single beds which can be joined together to make a superking, there is a cloakroom with a toilet and basin on the ground floor. The lounge has oak flooring with a welcoming woodburning stove and we leave a starter pack of wood and kindling for you to enjoy a roaring fire when you return on cold winter nights. The whole of the downstairs has underfloor heating and we make use of an eco friendly air source heating pump. Rose Cottage has a beautiful open plan kitchen which leads through to a conservatory with stunning views across open countryside. The kitchen is well equipped with everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible with a double oven and hob, microwave, wine cooler, dishwasher and retro fridge freezer. We leave a welcome pack for your arrival including milk and local sourced produce. There is also tea, coffee and sugar for your use. There is an outdoor laundry room housing a washing machine and dryer and here you can also find a boot cupboard to dry any outdoor walking boots and clothes. Outside the cottage benefits from a secure garden with double wooden gates and parking for 3 vehicles. There is a secure shed where you can house bicycles. A charcoal bbq is provided and there are garden games to be found inside the shed. Winforton lies on both sides of the A438 near to the River Wye. It has a 12th century church which if you look out through the wooden entrance gates you will just make out through the hedge and has a very unusual wooden tower. The village houses 15 listed buildings, many of which are half timbered and a number of other buildings of character or historical interest. Winforton Court, once owned by Roger Mortimer Earl of March, was used on several occasions in the 17th century as a court by Judge Jeffreys. Bungalows off Winforton Common Lane which is opposite the lane to Rose Cottage were used as laboratories by Professor Merton who worked with Barnes Wallis testing the famous “bouncing bomb”.
