Old Stone House w Fab Glamping Tent. Sleeps 2 to 6

The Old Stone House was built when the island of Nisyros was under Italian occupation in the 19th century. Wonderful views to nearby islands and glimpses of Turkey. Set set in private gardens and a 15 minute walk down to the village of Mandraki. The uphill walk back is 10 min longer. A full bathroom, huge outdoor kitchen and small but refreshing pool. We are completely off grid. Solar power and solar hot water. For 2023 we have added a fabulous Glamping tent that sleeps 2. 20 m from the house The space The main building is two rooms. The building is built entirely in Nisyrian stone. It has high ceilings and small, traditional windows with views to the sea. Attached to the building is a reclaimed cave that was called a Krifti by the locals. It was used to store wine, olive oil and raki. It is now a small bedroom with a small double bed. The walls are lined in stone with antique carpets covering the floor. The main room has a 2 metre by 1.8 metre bed. There is separate bathroom. It has a solar hot shower, an old marble sink and modern toilet. 20 m from the house is a fabulous Glamping tent. It has wonderful views of the sea and is surrounded by the garden and trees. It sleeps two either as singles or a double. Beautifully furnished with solar powered lights, computer charge and stand alone fans. The house is designed to take advantage of the Nisyrian summer. Directly outside the main building is a large outdoor kitchen with four burner gas stove, a huge marble sink, built in marble chopping board, refrigerator and wrap around seating. The view from the kitchen to the sea is spectacular. Also directly outside the front door of the main building is the lounge area which has a very large modern lounge suite with incredible views over the small pool to the sea. To access the house, you must park your car on the road above. You then walk down a path of about 40 metres to the house. Three large solar panels provide more than enough energy year round.
