Further south is Tywyn, home of the Talyllyn Railway, where you can enjoy a ride on a narrow-gauge steam train into the hills to Nant Gwernol. Above Barmouth is Dinas Oleu, the first part of land to be given to the National Trust and the views are well worth the steep climb.
