Historic Tea Estate & Organic Farm #1 Sinharaja

Nearly 100-years old, the Shrawani Organic tea estate is certified organic and produces Ceylon tea, cinnamon, and medicinal spices. Our 35 acre property is a haven of biodiversity. Our homestay is ideal for those in need of rejuvenation and contemplation. From here, you can enjoy trek the Sinharaja rainforest (UNESCO), birdwatch, or simply meditate.​ We are pleased to share our knowledge of the Sri Lanka's environment, history, spirituality and traditions, including the use of medicinal herbs. The space Guests are free to use the whole house and sprawling estate grounds which includes an inner courtyard, garden patio, meditation/yoga space, reading room and dining area. The outside area has been carefully curated over 30 years and available for tours and experiences which showcase Sri Lanka's wildlife in a lush jungle setting at the foot of the Sinharaja Rainforest - a World UNESCO Heritage site. Guest access In addition to the above, guests can settle anywhere in the garden with chair or mat to chill, read and have a cup of tea. Many guests enjoy sitting at the pavilion or the hillside overlooking the adjoining forest watching life go by. During your stay Available most of the time for socializing or to provide any information needed. Also available for information by phone and email. We are able to take guests on an walk through the estate, explaining our approach to farming, or to participate in the making of spices like black pepper, Ceylon cinnamon, Cardamom and more. Other things to note We require a minimum of 2 nights with us to allow time for the full experience, or simply to allow time for quiet contemplation and winding-down. We may be able to accommodate 1 night requests but require inquiry. Delicious Sri Lankan and Ayurvedic-influenced meals are available upon request using ingredients and vegetables from our organic farm (1,800 LKR per guest). Tea and juice service is complimentary using hand roasted tea and fresh fruit right from the grounds of the estate.
