BULA, owned/operated by Pasilio and Maraia, is a private, spacious, and comfortable village house to experience the real Fiji. A wonderfully unique visit that you will never forget. Enjoy the Fijian village lifestyle, off the grid. Relax, feel part of the extended village family - 'Fiji Time' all the time. Be welcomed into a unique way of life that the busy western world has long forgotten. Try some of the awesome activities (detailed below) or simply chillax. It's up to you! VNAKA VAKA LEVU. The space PLEASE NOTE: PRIVATE SPEEDBOAT TRANSFERS TO AND FROM THE VILLAGE FROM TAVEUNI = $FJD130 each way. MEALS AND ISLAND ACTIVITIES, if needed, ARE ADDITIONAL COSTS (FJD) Private and spacious village home. It is a house designed with a fun, relaxed tropical holiday in mind. It is definitely NOT 5 star accommodation. You will be immersed into the village life. The accommodation is a very simple and functional space to enjoy a tropical holiday. Two large bedrooms. Large living/dining room. Private bathroom and toilet. Additional external shower. Freezer and portable fans for your comfort. Huge deck to eat and relax on. Enjoy the breezes and outlook across the village, gardens, mountains to the sea beyond, and the gorgeous sunset colours. **For ladies, please note that a Sulu (sarong) and covered shoulders (T-shirt will suffice) will need to be worn for movement around the village. So please, ladies, plan to bring along some sarongs (sulus) and enjoy the village fashion.** Also for men, when attending any important/formal meetings/church service, a sulu is required attire. All guests will meet the Chief for sevisevi , formal welcome to the village and kava (gift) presentation to the Chief. Your host provides gifts on your behalf. Please bring along any items you need for your favourite activities (hiking, swimming, surfing, snorkelling, diving, fishing). Snorkelling/surfing equipment is not available on the island. You will need to provide your own equipment. SUNDAYS are VERY quiet days in the village. No work, activities. Just chillaxing, church, walking, talking, resting, maybe swimming at the local beach/bay. A day of quiet and rest. Of course, if you are transferring in or out on a Sunday, that is not a problem. MEALS AND ISLAND ACTIVITIES, if needed, ARE ADDITIONAL COSTS (FJD) Transfers need to be arranged with Pasilio for your personal speedboat ride from Taveuni to Naiviivi Village on Qamea. There are many awesome Activities/Experiences available to guests depending on time of year and weather conditions. Once on Qamea......Walking is everything. No roads, no cars, no bikes, no shops. Boat traffic is the only way to get there, and once in the village, it is foot power. Boats provide transport between villages on Qamea and between Qamea and Taveuni. Your Host, Pa, can easily organise boat transport if needed. Qamea Island activities are at additional costs PLEASE READ "OTHER THINGS TO NOTE" SECTION BELOW Other things to note PLEASE NOTE: PRIVATE SPEEDBOAT TRANSFERS TO AND FROM THE VILLAGE FROM TAVEUNI = $FJD130 each way. Contact Pasilio (Pa) on arrival, and he will sort everything out. Pa will work out all meeting places, shopping and check in details. Speed boat transfers to and from Qamea Island need to be arranged. There are many awesome Activities/Experiences available to guests depending on time of year and weather conditions. ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE (at additional costs - All in $FJD$) Snorkeling (Please bring your own equipment), Fishing, Kava Farming tours, Kava sessions, Cooking lessons, traditional weaving, School visits, church ceremonies, Waterfall walks, Rock water slides, Rainbow Reef tours, Lunch Picnics on beautiful tropical beaches, Jungle hikes, Round Island boat trips, Taveuni visits, Surfing trips, SCUBA diving can be arranged and MORE. Activity costs are kept to a minimum so guests can afford to enjoy as much of the local area as possible. Please ensure prices (FJD) are made very clear before any activity is undertaken. Calculations for activities and transfers are based on the transportation costs involved and the hourly rate for guides/staff to accompany the guests. Some examples....Trips to Taveuni for National Park walks or waterfalls (Tavoro or Lavena or watersides) about $150 for 1 person, then $40 for each additional passenger (this price is not including taxi fares to the walks/parks and the park entry fees if required, those will be extra costs paid directly to the operators). Round Qamea and Laucala islands with fishing/swimming/snorkelling/beach BBQ lunch about $350 for 1 person, then $40 extra for each additional passenger. Shorter snorkelling, beach lunch trips about $70-$120 (depending on the length of the trip) for 1 person, then $30 for each additional passenger. South Qamea or Purple Wall surfing trips $70 for one surfer, $30 each for any extra surfers. FOOD, There is a very basic kitchen for food preparation and guests are welcome to prepare all, some, or none of their own meals....up to you. There is a 2 burner gas cooktop, pots, pans, kettle, plenty of food storage areas, cutlery, and cooking utensils. Your host, Pasilio, can assist with food shopping prior to leaving Taveuni if required. DELICIOUS Meals can be provided from the village (extra cost - very reasonable, Breakfasts from $FJD15, Lunch from $FJD20, Dinner from $FJD20) The home cooked meals from the village are SUPER fresh, healthy, nutritious and YUMMY. Please be aware that the village cooks will need reasonable notice to prepare/provide meals. Water in Naiviivi is pure spring fed and delicious. That being said, it is wise to bring bottled water sufficient for your stay. Pasilio can assist with all these matters. Your hosts, Pasilio and Maraia, will ensure your safe and happy village stay experience. SUNDAYS are VERY quiet days in the village. No work, no activities. Just chillaxing, church, walking, talking, resting, reading, maybe swimming at the local beach/bay. A day of quiet and rest. Of course, if you are transferring in or out on a Sunday, that is not a problem.
