Soak up the peace and quietness while enjoying the true beauty that nature has to offer. The cabin was completed just before the lockdown. The building of the cabin was started by my husband and completed only 2 years later in remembrance of him. The space If you are in need of fresh, country air and simply want to unwind, you will be surprised how easily you will find just that when visiting us. Our Mountain Cabin is a wonderfully isolated haven, far removed from the stress of daily life and where you are surrounded by beautiful mountainous fynbos overlooking the picturesque Baviaanskloof Mountain Range, which sets the scene for the perfect semi off-the-grid escape. Guest access Guests are welcome to walk on the farm and to the river. Several marked hiking trials are available to explore. Do ask for directions and/map of all trails available. Other things to note You will need a high clearance vehicle to get to the cabin. If you do not have a high clearance vehicle, we can arrange (prior to arrival) to drop and collect you at the Main Farmhouse for an additional fee of R150, where your vehicle will be safely parked. However, please note that you will need a 4x4 if you would like to drive down to the river. Also, we will leave one complimentary bag of wood for you. Additional bags can be purchased at R25 a bag (we will leave a few at the cabin). The cash for transporting service and wood can be left in the box on the honest pantry in the Cabin on the day of your departure or eft payment afterward. Due to the location of the cabin, cellular reception is limited in the cabin itself. However, just above the cabin (80m away), you will find a hill with a tower where you will find reception to communicate with family and friends. Please note further that, although we have preventative measures in place, sometimes you may still be visited by some of the local critters which may include spiders, mice etc as you are located in the wild.
