Besotted Farmstay is a modern, eco-friendly Farm, snuggled in a friendly farming community between Narumoro and Nanyuki in Central Kenya that is ideal for holidays and vacations. It borders Mount Kenya Forest and has unforgettable views of Mount Kenya. Guests at Bessotted may take up various activities such as hiking, tree-planting, cycling, farming and rock climbing. They may also visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Aberdare National Park and flower and coffee farms in the Mt. Kenya region. The space Besotted Farm-stay captures the imagination of idyllic country living and reminds one of years gone by, when afternoon tea and strolls by the road meant the world. It consists of six units - RockView, Aberdare View, Mt. Kenya View, Executive Room and 2 cottages that provide additional sleeping areas. These units can also be booked separately as shared space with other guests. The property formally opened in July 2019 and is off the main power grid. It uses wind and solar power. It offers a solid setting for enjoying or acclimatizing to the mountain air. Mount Kenya and Mount Kenya Forest are special features for Bessotted. Being next to the forest one may spot elephants and other animals or even decide to do some bird-watching. Or, if one is daring enough, they may take a walk in the forest. One may also hike or ride their bike towards Mount Kenya for even crisper mountain air. Guests at Bessotted may also choose to just relax and enjoy the crisp mountain air or take up various activities such as tree-planting, cycling, farming, herding sheep. We particularly encourage each guest to plant and name a tree and hopefully visit us later and measure the progress. Guests may also visit flower and coffee farms as well as game parks and reserves located in the vicinity such as Ole Pajeta, Aberdare, Solio as well as the different game and wildlife conservancies in Isiolo and Meru. Guest access They can access all the common areas, patios, garden and barbecue areas. Indeed the only space off-limits are the other guest rooms/suites. During your stay I usually host with the assistance of a house manager, who is experienced and available throughout. I am also usually at the property at least half of the time. Bessotted Homestay is part and parcel of the village and community and villagers are more than happy to assist and co-host various activities with Bessotted. For instance, we can arrange for a day out farming, herding, or just accompanying a member of the community as they go about their errands, just to enable you to connect with the community and appreciate village life in Kenya. As an eco-friendly agricultural property, we welcome you to farm with us, plant trees, do whatever you wish to green the earth. We also have relationships with Tambuzi flower farm, Waihiga Coffee farm, as well as Misty Mountain, where you can visit, spend a day and learn more about the Mount Kenya region. We can also arrange to take you to any of the nearby game reserves. Just let us know what takes your fancy and we shall make it a reality.
