Ashburnham Estate

Ashburnham Estate is a working tea estate within easy reach of Kandy in central Sri Lanka. The main house is a 1930s planters' bungalow with stunning views over the valleys below. The estate is around 100 acres with several great waterfalls - perfect spots for swims or private picnics and sundowners that the house staff will happily organise. (Please note there are 6 rooms in the house and other guests, or the owners' family, may be staying also. Rates shown are for 1 private room.) The space Ashburnham is truly off the tourist trail so gives a great flavour of real Sri Lanka. At the same time it's within easy reach of Kandy but most guests prefer to enjoy the estate; visiting the waterfalls, exploring the tea fields with Mr Das, the estate manager, or heading off for treks and picnics through villages and mountains. Guest access Swimming pool, waterfalls, tea fields. During your stay The owner, David, is usually at the estate on weekends but Vishwam will be on hand whenever needed. Other things to note The rate quoted is for one double room. If you wish to book more than one we'll happily give the appropriate price.
