Welcome to our small Masai village

Hi, we are Melita and Simon, two Masai villagers and new on Airbnb. We would love to show you our lifestyle in our traditional village. You would sleep in a small Masai house on an animal-skin bed, eat together with us (milk, meat & ugali), and help us keep the cattle/fetch water. If you like, we can additionally show you around the area on the back of a motorbike to find wildlife and other Masai villages. The village is located 20km outside of Duka Bovu, where we can pick you up. Feel welcome! The space The house itself is a traditional house made out of clay and wood. Inside is a bed, a fireplace (for cooking) and a separate space for general supplies. The house stands in the middle of a small village, composed out of around 20 villagers that are eager to meet a traveller. The houses surround a big herd of cows, sheep, goats, chickens and dogs, which we take out for grazing and water every day. Guest access You can go and stand wherever you want in the village. Feel free to knock on someone's door to speak to them or look at their houses as well. We eat every morning and evening with friends and family outside or in my house. Which will be next to yours. Other things to note We do not have a European toilet yet. So for now, do as the Masai do and use our open air toilet.
