Our eco-cabin was entirely built from local, natural, and recycled materials and is located in a private neighborhood in the corner of Santiago Bay. Surrounded by forest, the lake and coffee plantations, it is a perfect spot for nature lovers and bird watchers. The space A simple, yet cozy cabin we built with natural materials, primarily cob and wood. The first floor is one open space that holds a kitchenette, dining area and lounging area. There is chimney/stove that you can use to warm up the place if you like. The second floor is a wooden loft with a matrimony-sized bed and is connected to an outdoor patio that overlooks the property. The bathroom is connected via a short stone path about 15 feet from the main cabin structure. It is also made out of natural materials and includes a shower, sink and toilet. The bathroom is rustic but has an electric shower head which provides warm to hot water. The toilet, which is a composting toilet, is part of our strategy to help avoid further contamination of the lake. This cabin is ideal for couples looking for a secluded place to rest, enjoy nature, and explore the most beautiful lesser-known southwest corner of Lake Atitlán. Guest access The cabin is located in a private neighborhood called the "La Bahia de Santiago" that is about 6 kilometers from the center of Santiago. The Bahia is a neighborhood with four main entrances along the principal road that runs southwest away from Santiago. To get to our property, take the third main entrance on the left. There is a gate. About 100 meters on your right sets our property. There is a sign that says "Utz K". If you come in your own vehicle, you are welcome to park right there on the lot. Other things to note Our local partner, Juan Ramirez, will assist you in all aspects of your stay. Upon making your reservation we will pass along his contact to you. He can help guide you to the cabin, answer any questions you may have about your accommodations, and help you navigate the surrounding area. He lives close by in the little town call Panabáj.
