"Gardenia" Farm Cottage - Families & kids welcome

Enjoy the beauty of our tropical Island in the shades of the mountains + only minutes away from the beach. Explore the island by foot, bike or car, hike the mountains, wander in the valleys, swim and snorkel, scuba dive or paddle board in the turquoise waters of the lagoon or simply do nothing and enjoy Little Paradise. A European style breakfast with added tropical delights and fresh eggs from our chicken is included to make you fit for your exciting day, (except Sat) Ask for Airport transfer. The space The little house is one of three absolutely family friendly cottages on our large property, away from the road, with the magnificent mountains in the back. You can hike the mountains, cycle along the back road, enjoy the morning sun coming up over the palm trees and just relax and recharge your batteries. You and your kids will be entertained by the goats, cats and the colorful roosters and hens with their baby chicks. You are welcome to explore the property and enjoy some tropical fruits straight from the tree. The property is very safe & pretty quiet apart from the animal noise. No need for an alarm clock, that job is given to the roosters. Bedrooms: 1 double bedroom, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds (separate entry but also connected to main bedroom), 1 fold sofa in living area. If you travel as a group please have a look at our other 2 cottages and ask for your special group discount. Pls consider: the bedrooms are adjoining. The house is perfect for a family with kids, but maybe not so good for 2 couples. Guest access The whole property and its surroundings are open to be explored. Visit Lulu, the piggy, pick yourself some pawpaws or feed the goats with banana. Joey will get you some drinking coconut from one of our many palm trees and show you how to open it yourself. It's always funny to watch the roosters trying to impress the hens, and the cats trying to get you attention (and a cuddle if possible). There is a BBQ available for you, and enough room if you wish to invite some friends to enjoy fresh ocean fish straight from the grill. By the way: we are happy to help you organizing a fishing trip if you like, a lagoon cruise, a mountain bike tour or any other activity that you would like to try. Other things to note We are on the back road in the village of Matavera, just 400m from the ocean. You will hear the ocean waves when you go to sleep at night. The property is surrounded by farmland, so there could be animal noise from time to time; a goat, a dog and of course the roosters when they welcome the rising sun. Farmers are "early risers", so sometimes you might hear a tractor in the morning. Please consider that we are in the tropics, with 1 Mio insects. 999,990 of them are ants. We try to keep them away from your house, using as little chemicals as possible (we're organic after all), but sometimes a little critter wins and finds it's way inside. Please let us know when this happens and we'll help you to get rid of them quickly.
