The Windward Rail - English Harbour
The Windward Rail - English Harbour
Description
Located in English Harbour just above Antigua Yacht Club with expansive views of Falmouth Harbour, this Queen-size bed on the verandah of Pineapple House with mosquito net is one of four open-air beds for rent in Libby Nicholson’s house. Ideal for solo adventurers, this attractively appointed, dormitory-style bed in gated community is close to nightlife, Pigeon Beach & Nelson's Dockyard. You’ll love Pineapple House for the view, location, West Indian architecture, gardens & friendly atmosphere. The space The Windward Rail is one of four Queen-size beds, each with mosquito net, located in the main house of Pineapple House. The mosquito net doubles as a privacy curtain but it is sheer to let the breezes through. A fabulous view overlooks the Antigua Yacht Club and Falmouth Harbour in the town of English Harbour. Each bed shares a bathroom with cold-water shower with other guests. A communal kitchen is nearby. Windward Rail is ideal for one person, because privacy is at a nil, but for the right couple, two may be accommodated for an additional charge. We also have beds for rent by the night/week/month in the Crew House, which offers more privacy. When beds are available there, we usually put guests in that house rather the main house, as there is more privacy there. These are open-air beds that can be subject to mosquito intrusion. In a northerly, rain can come in. There are several additional outside showers, ideal for use after the beach. The house has Wi-Fi and a Gazebo and is close to pubs, where music plays until 1 am, restaurants, grocery stores, and superyacht marinas. Pigeon Point Beach is five minutes away with two beach bars. Nelson's Dockyard is a five-minute walk in the other direction. The view from Pineapple House is of Superyachts at anchor at Antigua Yacht Club Marina, and the mountains of Falmouth Harbour. Open from late October to May annually. Guest access Guests have access to the main house, Gazebo, the outside shower, and the many paths on the property. In addition to the four Queen beds in the main house, whose names are the Boom Boom Room, Delila's, the Garden Bed, and the Windward Rail, the property has five guest houses for couples with private kitchens, bathrooms, and sitting rooms, known as Bird House, Cleopatras, Frangipani, Hibiscus, and Rum Jungle. Additional individual beds are available for rent in the crew house, which we call Pineapple House, and The Annex is ideal for couples wanting a little more privacy, yet willing to share a bathroom with guests in the crew house/Pineapple House. Other things to note There is no TV or air conditioning at Pineapple House. Guests are invited for sundowners at the main house each evening. All the cottages are open to the wind, and mosquitos do make their way in. Each bed has a mosquito net, fan, and reading light, and there is a Mosquito Magnet in the yard, which we rebait every three weeks. Guests are asked to use water sparingly, as water is scarce on the island. Pineapple House has wonderful ocean views, but there are lots of stairs; we are located on a steep hillside.... Pineapple House caters primarily to couples; dormitory-style beds are available for individuals in the main house. Internet is available in the main house and gazebo only; we welcome guests to use the service in the main house any time. We are open from October to May.
