Wesa House is an eco-friendly Swahili styled villa set on a secluded beach located a few kms off the main Kilifi-Watamu/Malindi road. The house boasts beautifully furnished, spacious rooms with incredible beach and sunset views. This self-catered house is ideal for groups of friends or families and has a pool, private beach access, spacious walled garden, rooftop sundowner area, and the rate includes a house manager/chef and daily housekeeping. The space Wesa House is a secure, quiet, eco friendly beachfront residence located 16 kms North of the Kilifi Bridge on the road to Watamu & Malindi. The secluded beach stretches for a kilometer in front of the house and is perfect for walking, swimming & relaxing at any time of the day. There are coral reefs within swimming distance of the beach in front of the house (great for snorkelling so please bring your mask & fins). The main villa has 3 double rooms with king sized beds, (one of which can also fit an extra single), and another room that has 4 single beds. The adjacent cottage (only 20 metres from the main house) has a ground floor room with 4 single beds, plus an upstairs roof space with a king-sized double bed. There is also a further additional “al fresco” roof space (known as the solar room), which has a double bed which can also be made into two singles, and is ideal for any additional guests when you have a larger group. All our rooms have en-suite bathrooms, and all have private verandahs. All beds have mosquito nets. There is a saltwater pool with sun beds, a spacious walled garden, and private beachfront access. There is also a rooftop bar/relaxing area that is a perfect space for watching the sunset with a few drinks and some biting’s. The house manager is a qualified chef, and his specialties include seafood and Italian dishes, and he will be happy to work with you to ensure your meals are perfect. He speaks perfect English, German and Kiswahili, and can help with organising transport and shopping, and let you know what activities are available in the area. The other staff will keep the house running smoothly, and laundry is done daily. The ladies who keep the house clean and comfortable are also trained masseuses and beauticians (manicure and pedicure). Sessions can be booked at any time during your stay. Please note that these services are provided at a small cost that is paid directly to the ladies. Guest access The house is 25 minutes from Kilifi town, where there is a supermarket, bank, chemist and a fruit/vegetable market. We are also only 45 minutes from Watamu, and 50 minutes from Malindi where you’ll find restaurants, shops and more. If you’re flying in, we recommend Malindi as the easiest airport to access us. If you're driving in, there is plenty of shaded parking space in the garden. Other things to note Please note that this is a multi-storey house with most of the bedrooms on the first floor. Bedrooms 1, 2 & 3 are on the first floor. Bedroom 4 is the only bedroom on the ground floor in the main house - perfect for a couple who want some privacy from the group. Bedroom 5&6 are in a separate two-storey cottage adjacent to the main house (only 20 meters away) and makes it perfectly suited to sleeping an entire family of 6. There are quite a few open staircases in the house so young children may require supervision. A nanny can be arranged to help with babysitting or daycare for an additional fee. The house is run entirely on solar power which does mean that the use of heavy electrical items such as hairdryers are not permitted. We are also not on any mains water system and all of our water that’s used in the house is harvested rainwater. For this reason, we do ask that you try to use it sparingly. Fresh fish (mostly Tuna, Kingfish, Snapper and Dorado) and other seafood (prawns, lobster, crab, calamari) is caught by the local fishermen and brought right to the front door daily. The house manager can place orders and purchase seafood on behalf of the guests. Coconuts for drinking and eating can be arranged and collected by the house manager.
