Approx. 1.5 hours from Tromso you can rent the Distillery Cabin. Overlooking Årøya Island it boasts panoramic views of the Lyngen Alps and Fjord. This tranquil location is perfect for privately viewing the spectacular Northern Lights as the cabin faces north. It is an ideal base for both winter and summer activities including: skiing, dog sledding, hiking, observing wildlife. Nearby is the wonderful Aurora Spirit Distillery (the world’s most northerly whisky distillery) and creators of Bivrost. The space The cabin is exclusively yours when staying. Nearby is the wonderful Aurora Spirit Distillery (the world’s most northerly whisky distillery) - here you can sample whisky, gin and aquavit which are all locally produced using glacial water. You can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the beautiful coffee shop or opt for additional activities such as a RIB boat tour, NATO base experience and private use of a Jacuzzi (additional costs). Guest access • The Distillery cabin can accommodate 2 people: • All bedding and towels are provided • Full Kitchen including full oven, hob, dishwasher & fridge • Large windows with panoramic views of the mountains and fjord • Bathroom with shower • TV • Comfortable heating via heating pump • Fireplace Other things to note It is ESSENTIAL to hire a 4 wheel drive in the winter months as although the cabin is accessible, the hills can be tricky and VERY SLIPPERY to negotiate. The road is very steep, so please be aware of this. It in doubt please contact us before you book as we are happy to discuss it with you. You can of course park at the bottom of the hill and walk (its only 2 minutes), so this is an option, as the location and views are worth it :)
