Description
The Hacienda del Sol is a Historic Bed and Breakfast built in 1804. The Hacienda was Mabel Dodge Lujan and Tony Lujan's first home together in Taos. Guests that have stayed at our Inn included Georgia O'Keefe, Ansel Adams, Willa Cather, DH Lawrence, etc. We have two big beautiful lawns in the back of our Inn with clear sunset views of Taos Mountain. We serve a delicious Gourmet Free Breakfast. The Love Apple, (A+ restaurant), shares our driveway and is walking distance for dinner. The space La Sala del Sol is part of the oldest section of our property, built in 1804. 5' thick adobe walls, exposed Vigas, old stained glass windows... Mabel and Tony's bedroom was right next door, and this space with it's brilliant natural light was their art studio. La Sala includes: a designated parking spot, King Bed, luxury sheets / towels / pillows / soaps / shampoo, Conditioner, Private Bathroom with Tub / Shower, Combo, Keurig, Tea, and Mini Refrigerator. Our property is approximately 1.5 acres, and our Adobe structure encompass over 10,000 square ft. Common areas include the Library / Lounge just down the hall from you, the Dining area for Breakfast and two beautiful back lawns to daydream under the trees and or a second lawn with lounge chairs to take in the majestic views of Taos Mountain. Our Gourmet Breakfast is complimentary from 8-9:30 and is located in the First building as you enter the Driveway and includes; Local Apothecary Coffee, Zumex fresh squeezed OJ, homemade Quiches, Proscuitto egg cups, Scrambled Eggs, Tamales, Potato Gratin, Chobani Yogurts, Fresh Assorted Pastries, Assorted Breads, Fruits, Avocados, Cereals and more! Guest access Our guests have full access to all of the accommodations we offer at our Inn. Your individual code will give you access to all the doors on our property during your stay. Other things to note We are 1 mile from the center of Taos, in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood called El Prado. Cids market (local, organic, etc,) is 5 minute walk, as is the Cellar (exceptional wine / beer / spirits). Arroyo Seco (enchanting small town with food, art and shopping) is 15 minute drive away from town. Taos Ski Valley is about 20 mins drive beyond Arroyo Seco. Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is 15 minute drive. Ojo Caliente Hot Springs about 30 minutes past the Rio Grande Bridge. Santa Fe is about 1:45 drive. Many great shops, restaurants, galleries, museums. Lots to do and see in the area!
