The 'Ultimate Escape' - Silo Lodge

African Leaves Trout Lodge is regarded as an excellent fly-fishing location, is a part of the ‘Zuikerboschhoek Bewarea’ and is home to wildlife that frequents the mountain range. There is a natural waterfall and 2 km’s of natural river running through the forest on the property. There are two houses situated on the property - Oak House and Silo Lodge. We are pet friendly for up to 4 small to medium sized breed dogs, which must be well trained. The space With three en suite bedrooms, one with an open-air shower, Silo Lodge can accommodate six guests. The spacious lounge with sociable “ Hemel en Aarde ” bar, shares an open fireplace with the adjacent dining room and kitchen. The living area opens onto a verandah with well equipped built-in braai, overlooking a trout dam and impressive mountain range. Silo Lodge offers the following: - Three en-suite bedrooms: two with double beds, one with twin beds. - Spacious dining room with seating for six. - Comfortable living room with bar area, indoor braai facilities, and fireplace. - DSTV & Netflix - Free satellite Wi-Fi - Patio with built-in braai, overlooking the trout dam and mountain range. - Outdoor KolKol wood-fired hot tub. - A private trout dam for fly-fishing. Well equipped kitchen, comprising of the following: - Gas stove with electrical oven - Microwave - Fridge/freezer - Dishwasher - Gas and electrical kettle Load shedding provisions: - Gas stove - Portable solar lights around the house - Generator in case of emergencies Guest access Booking the Silo Lodge will allow you access to: - The Silo Lodge (sleeps 6 persons) - Private trout dam in front of the house. - Communal shared trout dam approximately 350m from the house. - Access to a hiking trail to a waterfall on the property, as well as access to hike up the mountain range. Other things to note Please note: - No weddings/functions/events may be booked here. - Only accommodation bookings are allowed. - No extra guests are allowed. (6 persons maximum) - Should someone plan any form of small event, birthday or family function, it will be subject to a quote of break ware hire and additional staff costs. - We allow up to 4 small to medium sized breed dogs that must be well trained. - The fencing around the house is designed to keep cattle and wildlife out of the gardens and is not designed to fence in dogs. Please don't leave your dogs outside unsupervised or off leash if you are worried that they may run away.
