Hide-out in a tropical reforestation project
Description
We started reforesting 8 hectares of farmland in 2008. Somewhere hidden in this project, we built a tree-shaped tiny house. You sleep on the ground floor and can live on the first floor with views into the canopy. There is an observation platform on the second floor. The space We now have a small tropical forest behind the hotel that is full of colourful birds and butterflies. With luck you will see an anteater or an armadillo pass by. On the veranda, which is private, we have hummingbird feeders set up. Guest access You can relax on the veranda, looking at the hummingbirds, or relax in the hammock or take a stroll along our trail system through the forest. Other things to note From August to December sea turtles nest on nearby Malena beach and from September to December, their eggs hatch. You can help the local population protect and release turtles during this period. A truly wonderful experience. In August and September, humpback whales visit our shores. Come and watch whales with a local captain. Furthermore, we organize trips to Coiba National Park and Cerro Hoya National Park with a biologist as guide. Please give at least a week notice for the best experience. Also available are day trips to the mangrove forests, a short hike to a waterfall, horse riding and the beach. If you are looking for birds, dolphins, butterflies, monkeys, orchids or another specific group, ask us, we can help you find what you need.
