The location is perfect to enjoy time outdoors including on the coast, the beach which is 3 minutes drive or in the pinewood forest. There are plenty of local shops, traditional markets and restaurants a short drive away. The space Split over two floors this 200m2 self-catering home offers 5 bedrooms including 3 double beds and 2 single beds and 2 bathrooms, all in the main house. In addition, an extra bathroom is located by the swimming pool and garden area. The south facing garden has been lovingly restored to feature many seasonal plants and tropical flowers. The garden covers some 2000m2 and is influenced by the sea, keeping it warm by day and cool during the night. In the distance, guests can observe Sintra’s famous castle (Mouros) and palace (Pena) from the swimming pool. The garden provides the ideal setting to enjoy the sunset. This house is around 40 years old and in keeping with traditional holiday country homes of that time features single glazed wooden windows and shutters. The house is located on the main road which links the village of Colares (famous for wine) with Janas (famous for bread). The entire house, garden and swimming pool are completely private and rental is for exclusive guest use. Included in the kitchen is a Nespresso capsule coffee machine, for Nespresso style coffee capsules only; Italian coffee maker and filter coffee machine are also available. Basic cooking seasonings are provided for every reservation. The garden features a traditional built-in barbecue area which guests can use responsibly. 'Working from home...here in Sintra...' This traditional house provides the perfect home-from-home atmosphere and is also ideal for those who wish to work from home in a unique office setting. Guest access The entire house, garden and swimming pool are completely private, this is a private family house, nothing is shared (except gardener and pool maintenance staff - please check house rules for more details). Cars must be parked outdoors. Other things to note The local music and food festival happens on the last weekend of july and first of august, on friday and saturday. Expect loud music and people until late hours. The easiest way to deal with the inconvenience is often to join the crowd for an hour or two. It feels much less like a disturbance when you are the one enjoying the food and the music. The garden is pesticide free, only organic plant food is used, and most of the plants used have low water requirements making it a more sustainable and eco friendly space for the guests, birds and neighbour bees. Vegetable garden is all edible and can be used by the guests during the stay.
