It has a purity and elegance of design akin to Frey, Neutra and Le Corbusier. For me, it's like owning a Picasso. True to the the original design and style, right down to the kidney shaped swimming pool. When I acquired the house, the realtor told me that it was owned by Katharine Hepburn who bought it for Spencer Tracy in the 60s. They had another home (Check it out, 667 Mission Rd, Palm Springs). I think at that time Tracy was just beginning to decline, and the house is a stones throw away from a favorite place of theirs, the old Racquet Club (frequented by Hollywood elite including Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, etc.) Washer/Dryer. Briefly, the aerial tram is fantastic. The hiking trails are great. Go to Sunnylands and take the tour. Do not miss Joshua tree. It is spectacular. And there is lots of great architecture in Palm Springs so check out the web to find great neighborhoods to peruse. And of course, there are the outlet malls for a day of shopping. And for hire and shopping head out toE L Paseo, the Rodeo Drive of Rancho Mirage. And, as always, bring lots of sunscreen. Too many restaurants to mention. Cecil's is probably the hottest ticket.
