A YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK RESERVATION MAY BE REQUIRED DURING YOUR STAY in 2025 *** Visitors who plan to enter Yosemite National Park between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Memorial Day weekend, any day between June 15 and August 15, or Labor Day weekend are likely to need a reservation. Reservations will become available Tuesday, May 6 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific time. Search for NPS Yosemite for more information. Reservations will be required: • Between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. over the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, from May 24 through May 26, 2025, and from August 30 through September 1, 2025. • Daily between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. from June 15 through August 15, 2025. • Reservations will be valid for three consecutive days. • Visitors without a reservation may enter the park before 6 a.m. or after 2 p.m., or anytime via public transportation on YARTS. • Visitors with in-park lodging, camping, wilderness, or special use permits do not require an additional reservation. Simply show your reservation or permit at the entrance station and pay the park entrance fee. • Visitors participating in a commercial tour, paid program, or arriving via a hotel shuttle bus do not require a reservation but will still pay the park entrance fee. • Reservations will be available online after May 6, 2025. Search for Yosemite Ticketed Entry. Red Tail Ranch is a 90-acre property that surrounds a unique 25 acre meadow complex, rich in picturesque conifers, oaks, and special habitats and moments. Acknowledging the land is homeland of the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation, the land is complex, you can retreat into nature. The Meadow House and Ranch, Sierra Cottages are strategically placed to overlook the meadow with outdoor porches, patios, and hot tubs to best relax and reconnect to nature. The gravel drive is nearly 3/4 mile off the main road, so the only noise you will hear is frogs, songbirds, owls and aspen leaves. We respect your (and your group's) privacy; the onsite host lives nearby, and, when available, but will check you in, and give you pointers on local knowledge. Guest access Step out onto your own private outdoor spaces and take in open meadow views framed by native plants, seasonal wildflowers, and the natural rhythms of the land. As a standalone home, the Meadow House offers a greater sense of space and privacy, with mornings that begin slowly over coffee and evenings that settle into quiet as light moves across the meadow. Inside, the home features its own private kitchen, fully equipped for preparing meals and enjoying time together. In addition, a shared outdoor kitchen nearby offers a BBQ and stovetop, along with cookware, dishes, utensils, olive oil, salt, and pepper for relaxed outdoor cooking. After a day exploring nearby hiking trails, the shared hot tub, located near the Ranch Room, provides a peaceful place to soak and unwind beneath the open sky. Guests are welcome to enjoy the shared outdoor areas throughout the property, including open meadow spaces and surrounding trails that make the setting feel secluded and untouched. To preserve the calm atmosphere, we ask that lights are turned off and noise is kept low after 10pm in shared areas. The Meadow House is not attached to any other unit and offers a quiet, immersive stay within a rare meadow landscape designed for rest, exploration, and connection to nature. Other things to note Visiting Yosemite National Park (Year-Round Information) Our property is located approximately 25 scenic miles from the Big Oak Flat Entrance to Yosemite National Park, one of the most convenient access points to the park. From here, you can expect: Yosemite Valley in about 1 hour and 15 minutes, including El Capitan, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and Tunnel View Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in about 45 minutes, a quieter area with dramatic scenery and excellent hikes Tuolumne Meadows (open seasonally) in about 1.5–2 hours, known for alpine lakes, domes, and wildflower-filled trails The drive to the park is straightforward and scenic, with no mountain passes or difficult roads. Entrance Passes & Fees (Always Required) All visitors entering Yosemite National Park must have a valid entrance pass. The park does not accept cash at entrance stations. Standard entrance passes typically range from $20–$35 and are valid for 7 consecutive days Annual Passes and America the Beautiful Passes are also accepted Important for international visitors: Non-US residents age 16 and older are required to pay an additional $100 per person entrance fee unless entering with an Annual Pass or America the Beautiful Pass. Children under 16 enter free. Entrance Reservations & Timed Entry Yosemite may require an entrance reservation or timed entry on certain high-traffic days, typically during peak travel periods or holidays. These requirements are not in effect year-round and may change annually. As of January 5, 2026, Yosemite National Park has not yet announced whether entrance reservations or timed-entry requirements will be in place for the 2026 season. When reservations are required: Reservations are issued through Recreation. gov A portion of reservations is typically released in advance of the season Additional reservations are commonly released approximately 7 days before the arrival date Outside of reservation-required periods, no reservation is needed to drive into the park. Guests should always check the official Yosemite National Park website shortly before their visit to confirm whether an entrance reservation is required for their specific dates.
