Not far from downtown La Jolla, an upscale hamlet of hotels, boutiques, and galleries lies our neighborhood, La Jolla Cove - a swimming and diving paradise. This tiny beach nook, part of the San Diego La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve, is sheltered by picturesque cliffs and offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean in an intimate setting. La Jolla Cove has some of the clearest water of all of the San Diego beaches, making it ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling. La Jolla village offers great restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques. Treat yourself to a massage and facial at a day spa, stroll the coast, or simply relax on the warm sand of La Jolla Cove - the pleasure will be guaranteed. There is also La Jolla Children’s Pool, which was supposed to be a swimming area for kids, as the name implies. This sea wall was built in 1931 to protect the area from rough waters. The protected area has gradually filled up with sand to form a little beach that seals have called home since about 1992. Also, hundreds of sea lions live in and around the Cove. On any given day, locals and tourist can catch a glimpse of them sunbathing, swimming and nursing their pups. In or out of the water, it’s easy to have a close encounter with these friendly sea animals. No need for a car because we are walking distance from the shops, restaurants, and beaches. You can even swim from La Jolla Cove to La Jolla shores if you are adventurous. Rent a scooter or bike and explore one of the most beautiful communities in the US. Parking is available in the driveway or there is plenty of street parking. Beach towels, boogie boards, a beach umbrella and a cooler are all available to make your time at the beach a more pleasant. Spin, yoga, health clubs, restaurants and great happy hours are all within walking distance, as well as a luxury movie theatre and symphony hall. There will be an additional cleaning fee of $60 for stays over 10 days.
