Peaceful cottage in Uplyme with far reaching views

Kilnside was rebuilt from an existing outbuilding into a luxury, self-catering cottage with work finishing at the beginning of 2020. The space now boasts a stunning open-plan, vaulted kitchen and living area with large bi-fold doors onto a private patio. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed with ensuite shower room. Both the bedroom and living room have a stunning view down the valley towards the coast at Lyme Regis. The space Kilnside is a generous 40sqm, and has been purposely designed to feel spacious and private, with an unhindered view. Behind the cottage, and viewable from the bedroom, is one of the only remaining lime kilns from when the area was a working quarry, some 200 years ago. Adjacent to our home, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the East Devon and Dorset border, Kilnside is located less than two miles from Lyme Regis town and beach, with the village pub and local store just a short 5 minute walk away. River Cottage HQ and River Cottage Canteen, Axminster are both a 10 minute drive away. You can walk the East Devon pathway to Lyme Regis (1.5 miles), which follows the river down the valley to the coast. Please ask for more information Please note that Kilnside is separate to, but located next to our family home, and as such there will be the normal coming and goings of daily life, in the driveway and some of the garden. There is a 50cm drop from the patio to lawn below, so young children will require supervision. No pets allowed. No smoking inside the property. We do not charge a cleaning fee, but we do politely ask guests to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition. Thank you. Li Other things to note Please Note: Roofing Works (21 September – approximately 2 October 2026) We wanted to let you know that we'll be having part of our house re-roofed between 21 September and approximately 2 October 2026. During this period, you may notice some additional activity in the shared driveway, along with the usual noise associated with roofing work between 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. The good news is that we don't expect the works to affect the privacy of the cottage. Your private patio and outdoor seating area are on the opposite side of the property from the driveway and the roofing works, so you should still be able to enjoy your own peaceful space. To acknowledge any inconvenience the works may cause, we've reduced our rates for stays during this period. We believe in being open and transparent with our guests, so we wanted to make sure you have this information before booking.
