Woodland Retreat - quiet, near St Ives, good base.

Woodland Retreat is a light and cosy detached chalet on a site with other units in 100 acres of woodland. Situated in one of the most sought after areas of Cornwall, and only a 5 minute drive to Carbis Bay Beach, Woodland Retreat is perfectly positioned for exploring the southern tip of Cornwall with day trips. It is 8 minutes from St. Ives, the artistic hub of Cornwall with the Tate gallery, Barbara Hepworth museum and numerous small galleries, as well as great restaurants and surfing. The space Woodland Retreat has 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with twin beds), 1 bathroom and an open plan kitchen/living area. Located in 100 acres of woodland for you to explore, the chalet feels very peaceful. We have dedicated free parking close to the property. The chalet is small but spacious, with a kitchen that comes fully equipped with a cooker, hob, microwave, toaster and fridge. We also supply bed linen, towels, washing up liquid and tea towels. Everything you need for a self-catering holiday. We are trying to make sustainable choices to become more environmentally friendly, so certain household products are renewable, biodegradable and recyclable. The whole space has been tastefully designed to maximise space and allow light - we have furnished it simply, with bits of vintage to bring it alive, and there are plenty of books and dvds, and some games and toys for children. Outside there is a picnic bench, which is a lovely place to have breakfast (along with local wildlife), and to sit quietly with a glass of wine before an al fresco meal. It is a really restful place to be, amongst the trees listening to the birds. A small shop is open throughout the season, and there is a launderette on site as well as a bar and restaurant. There is also an entertainment complex, should you choose to make use of it, together with a heated indoor pool, sauna and amusements - there is a charge to use these facilities if you wish to do so, and you can purchase passes from Reception. From May to September a bus goes regularly from the site to St. Ives and to Penzance. No smoking, and no pets please. Guest access The whole chalet will be yours for the duration of your stay, together with the outside area with its patio and picnic bench, discreetly screened from other units.
