The public land access is east of the property (towards the mountains and northeast around the lake. Other things to note I and my family stayed at Bill’s Summit Lake cabin for 3 wonderful weeks! To call it a cabin understates the elegance and the high-end finishes of this lovely home. Not only is it beautifully furnished and appointed, the layout is superb! With a sumptuous (Views! Views! Views!) master bedroom with deluxe king size bed, lovely corner sofa, AND a separate living room upstairs, (there’s another lovely bedroom upstairs too!) I and my husband had privacy while the teens had their own bedrooms and living room downstairs. We all had the space we needed and wanted together and apart – that makes for a fabulous get-away! The views are to die for! Tons of decks and tons of great viewing windows make all the difference. Views of the snow-capped peaks, Summit Lake, and the ponderosa pines on 35 very private acres really provided a nourishing setting. We loved watching all the deer that came through each day, herds of them! We have no doubt that when we next return to the Durango-Mancos-Cortez area we will rent this home again!
