Welcome to our wellies by the door cottage! This beautiful cottage is set in a most charming place and makes for a perfect base to explore the wonderful Peak District. The cottage sits on a quiet farm track, at the gateway to the Peaks and is most perfect for an exploration weekend or week away. The space Although you will have our home to yourselves, please note that the house is a home, and therefore, we are only able to accept guests who have been vetted and have garnered a decent number of positive reviews. We hope you understand our position. Due to our work commitments and locations, we split our time between our two homes and are happy to share this unique cottage with the wonderful Airbnb community, located in a superb part of the Peak District. Your room features a superbly comfy king-size bed, luxury bedding, toiletries, fluffy towels, and a smart SKY TV. The house exudes a rustic, arty, shabby, and stylish charm, and is a relaxing retreat to return to after a day of walking, cycling, and exploring. You are welcome to enjoy our spacious living area and superbly equipped kitchen, with its abundance of antique Persian rugs. The countryside setting might be different, but don't let the red AGA intimidate you – it cooks the most divine food, as long as it's not a frozen pizza! There is also an air fryer/conventional oven/microwave combi available. The house offers two dining areas – formal dining at the front of the house and a more casual approach in the wonderful vaulted ‘Captain’s Corner’ also known as the ‘Naughty Corner’ next to the kitchen. Super-fast WiFi is available throughout the house. There are the all important two loos, one bathroom on the first floor and a WC/laundry room on the ground floor. You can make the most of sunny and warm days in our outdoor south-facing country courtyard with its Mediterranean blue hues, accessible through our large triple track doors that open up the side of the kitchen space. Parking is available at the front of the property. Other things to note Located in the heart of Old Glossop, this house is just one minute away from the nearest pub (57 seconds to be exact) or a two-minute stroll to two other pubs, that serve great food. Additionally, there is a lovely cafe a stone's throw from the house, featuring an outdoor terrace overlooking the brook (make sure you check the opening hours!). The cafe serves an array of local delights and homemade cakes, so be sure to visit for afternoon tea and cake. Furthermore, the beautifully maintained Manor Park is just 60 seconds across the road, providing all your vacation needs within a short walking distance, including a fantastic Park Run every Saturday morning at 9am. Glossop town itself is a 10-15 minute walk away and offers an M&S food hall and independent shops selling local produce. The train station there has a reliable train service, every half an hour to Manchester Piccadilly, which takes around 35 minutes direct.
