Carpenter's Rest is a beautifully converted Carpenter's workshop in the heart of the Welland Valley. Set on a single floor, with high ceilings, enjoy our comfortable and well equipped eco-friendly cottage. With views across the countryside, and French doors opening onto the private decking area, complete with BBQ, seating, and chiminea, allowing you to enjoy al fresco living. We welcome professionals, friends, couples and families with young children. The space Carpenter's Rest provides a peaceful environment to relax, work or play from the moment you arrive. Off street parking at the cottage makes it a breeze to unpack your belongings. Upon entering the cottage, an airy and tranquil living space welcomes you. Enjoy the relaxing and comfortable lounge, practical dining and work space, a fully fitted high specification kitchen, including laundry facilities. Then retire to the luxury king size bed. This is all complemented by under floor heating throughout. A small collection of books, including those by local authors, are provided for you to snuggle on the comfy sofa and enjoy. Peruse the magazines chosen to inspire you to enjoy the outdoors and relax. The 42 inch smart HD TV is ready for you. Board games, a PlayStation and DVD player are also provided with a selection of games and films for you to choose from. Are you celebrating? An afternoon tea set, champagne bucket and flutes, martini glasses and cocktail shaker are all available at your fingertips. Not to mention the beautiful, popular local pub complete with restaurant, garden and play park. With fantastic pubs, walks and shops nearby, as well as easy access to major road networks across the Midlands and a direct train link to London and Sheffield, Carpenter's Rest cottage provides the perfect blend of countryside retreat and modern living. Young children are welcome, and upon request, we can provide a travel cot/high chair (even a few indestructible toys) to help make your trip as stress-free as possible. We know how great it feels to not have to worry about lugging baby equipment around when you just want to relax. Our sustainable and eco-friendly attitude is at the forefront of what we do. Our aim is to create a comfortable and relaxing environment for our guests, without it costing the earth! Local, organic, closed-loop, luxury products are used where ever possible throughout the cottage. This is no gimmick, this is how we make a difference to the world we hand on to the next generation, and we are passionate about it. Escape to the countryside, near tourist attractions such as Foxton Locks, Rockingham Castle, Nevil Holt Opera and Sculpture Gallery, Uppingham and Market Harborough market towns, Richard III Visitors Centre, the National Space Centre, Wicksteed Park and the Harringworth Viaduct (longest in the UK). We can't wait to welcome you to Carpenter's Rest Cottage. Guest access The cottage is private and you will have the place to yourself. Other things to note No stag or hen dos are permitted. Smoking is permitted in the front garden or decking area, but please be responsible and use the ash tray provided, and keep the doors closed to prevent smoke entering the cottage.
